[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

I guess I'll play on soon. I'm putting the missionary on the boat for Peter since the boat is perfectly timed for pickup.
Canal is close and can get one soon.

Science:
I was gonna work 2sci T94, but then it won't grow to size 7.
I think we are better off at size 7, then we have to work scientists 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5 (-16 food) for the GS.

For Peter:

Asks for Help 8/10
Demands Tribute 2/10
Demands You Convert To His Religion 2/10
Demands Civic Change 1/10

Is "demanding" our fur asking for help? If so, he's likely to do that but he's not likely to demand tribute.

Maybe asks for help is only when friendly?

Looks like Kait already answered it:

Asks for Help is when a civ is pleased or friendly with you and asks for a tech, gold, or a resource. Based off of Ask_For_Help.
Makes Demands is when a civ is cautious, annoyed, or furious with you and demands that you give them a tech, gold, or a resource. Based off of Demands_Tribute.

I guess there is one more option I hesitate to mention.
T93-T94 Research IW in 2 turns.
We have just enough for this I think. It's tight, but we can make it work with build wealth if we have to.

btw, our expenses are much higher than I thought. Closer to 70 vs 56 I was imagining.

I suppose it's not going to pay off vs Free IW. Especially since we have plans for Science that don't include the gems tiles.

Stick with Paper?

Yes, I think we stick with Paper. Like you said, the gems would provide +1:) but we won't be working those tiles so it's probably not worth two precious turns of research if we think we will be getting it free in the nearish future.

another minor detail

Cows
T93 Wealth. Should be Coast tile, not plainsfarm cus we have a library.
T94 of course, back to plainsfarm to complete Mids

If SB is already a +2 for resources he doesn’t need any more, we can let him demand them all he wants.
Right, but the problem is, we're giving him Clam for no reason (he has clam now)
The other trade is Crab for his Rice and we want that.

We have to keep one trade going or we get decay.
I suppose he could demand fur once we connect that, so we should get 3 fur. That's a great job for the Cows/Mids workers next turnset.

Continuing

IBT: forest grows at Whales

T93
3 - seafood island (Peter's area) Wow. he has a lot of seafood (no fish)
Red Light :wallbash:
wb can see one tile farther than the chariot.
Ice blockage. And fog gazing shows the north passage is blocked too, right? Chariot woulda seen that.

I'm gonna cancel the wb in Clams and send this one back to Canal. Canal does not need it for the next 14 turns.anyway. It can run 2 clams + 5 sci @ -2fpt.

Oh my, an ice trap!!!

That means we might need a galley very soon.
2pop whip a galley T94 in clams?
Send the chariot?

Ya, send the workboat back if going north shows more ice on T94.
I think our workboat can see 2 coast away?

**Edit**

The north is maybe blocked.
Try looking with the workboat next turn before whipping galley.

I think what we can currently see up north is the limit of what a chariot would have seen.

**Edit 2**
Err, will Clam City be size 4 next turn?

No, but we probably should have. A galley + 2:move: land mover seem to be the ideal scouting team. Throw a missionary on board too and that would be the Dream Team (TM).

So if we are going to go to the effort of sending a boat to the SE, I'd much prefer a galley over a wb.
There is a good chance now you were right.

Ice or no ice, perhaps we should commit to a 3rd galley.

If no ice, the wb keeps exploring west and the galley comes down to back it up.

If ice, the galley comes down, drops off chariot, then heads back to drop workers at Profit to fort marble.
This frees up our Confu galley to sail to Peter and convert him.

I also see the northern ice as maybe blocking. But blocked would explain no AI wbs. T102 we may find out from SB’s maps. Do we delay the galley?
