I should have realized earlier that the vote is on turn -1 which is very strange. 0 turns to vote means one turn left. With that knowledge there was a shot at winning 7 turns earlier. But if Bismark had not become friendly and voted on us that would have delayed victory 20 turns.

Well played Cactus Pete and RRRaskonikov. I think the game was great fun in August and September when it heated up.
 
I can, but not for about 10 hours, so will be pushed by the deadline. If RRR wants to finish it sooner, that would be fine, if he'll just post his intentions.

Sorry you're feeling bad. These days anytime anyone is sick, I think COVID. Hope it's just something you ate.
I have problems with my stomach quite often. It is not anything to worry about.

Sorry again for dropping out during a couple of months without notice, I had way too much on my hands (pitboss, notws, etc...) and I just have that much free time unfortunatly.

I'd be interested to know what you two perceive to be reason the faster teams beat us.
 
I have not looked at their games. I may have time to do it tonight. I think we lost 7 turns from mistakes in the very end but that would probably not win us the game. We also overcommited to getting gold.

In general I think our strategy was sound but we could probably have executed it better. I would not be surprised if other teams found some way to play the first 100 turns better.
 
I think the great library was a mistake. University of Sankore would have given us more over the course of the game and on the track of the priority techs Civil service and Education.
 
Very impressive win for you guys especially considering the staffing issues, and missing out on a player of RRR’s caliber for much of the game. Great game!

edit: oh..and Kait does a wonderful write-up comparison of HS v. PR in the Homies thread. You need to go back a few pages to find his first entry.
