SGOTM7 - Team CDZ

Pre-turn: Not much action will happen off island in my turns. I have a grand total of 2 Knights that can be moved. The others are all inside of Armies that will never leave the island because we will never have large enough transports. On the other hand that may be good as they will make fine defenders. one for the northern portion of the island and one for the south. Please remember all future armies will have to be left unfilled until they get across the water. Everything looks good except our economy which is pretty putrid. But I suppose after MT we can turn off science and just kill people.

Bombard eMusket 2 times once successful
Attack with rKnight and redline the musket revealing a spear underneath

vKnight kills 1hp eMusket and Bagdad is taken I accpet the city. Sell off the Harbor and abandon the city.
Move Settler in to replace the city.

Settle New World one tile NE of where Bagdad was. Start a Harbor
Settling the new town shows a Persian Cav just outside of our new borders. I hit him with one of 2 trebs.

2 vKnights are killed by Arab LB's the knights were even on a hill.

Turn 5 (700AD)
Move troops and bombard some passing ships

6 Zulu troops are dropped off 4 Impi, 1 LB, and a Horseman

Turn 6 (720AD)
Kill all 4 Impi loosing 5 hp of the Armies Have to leave the Horse and LB
Move Troops towards Medina

The Scandi's attack New World with a Zerk and Kill him. What is strange is that Meliville only had 1 Knight in it. I'll chaulk it up to luck

Turn Science off and Hire a Scientist towards Navagation
All bombarment fails on medina so I will wait to attack

The Vikings attack New World with 4 zerks and take the city 3 died to our 2 Muskets. It was burned to the ground.

Turn 8 (740AD)
The Bombardment fails again
Kill the LB with our newly minted Saphi and our Golden Age Begins
Balance Lux and Science to bring Astronomy in 6 turns. We really have little need for cash as we have no Knights to upgrade to speak of.

I and going to play some more turns as I want to do some damage to the Arabs before i turn it over

Manuver to Cover the homeland as best as possible
Attack and Kill 1 Impi with the Army. Move the other Army to AtFL to cover it against attack.
Move a spear to Iron in the Borders to hope it covers as well

Attack on Medina
3 Saphi and 1 Knight attack 4 Muskets in Medina (the Knight dies) and we take the city

Persian LB impales himself on our Pike
Zulu horse impales himself on our spear in Irons
and the remaining Impi move inland towards undefended cities instead of finishing off the spear. HMM???
In doing so the walk next to our army which takes 1hp off of all of them

Pass off report:
There is nothing to sell and 10 resistors. I didn't abandon the city but you can pre-turn. It does have a 16% chance of flipping.

I have a settler over by the dyes I'd send him one South on top of them. We Maybe should stop making cannons and make Muskets for our new towns.

I've placed lots of trebs and workers around areas that have been having landings on them

We should start a harbor on the mainland to accept the dyes once the Harbor is done in New World 2

Narjan can be gotten back at any time.
 
Preturn (800 AD):
Decide to not abandon Mecca, I think we can hold it. And we don't have to fear Berserks there.
Switch to 40% research, Astro will still be done in 1 turn.
IiB now produces Musket instead of cannon.

IT:
Vikings send Berserk & Rifle next to Mecca.
Vikings bombard and pillage our saltpeter tile.
Arabs land a Longbow.
Astro done, doing Physics (Magnetism will allow us to tansport armies in Galleons)

Bombing down Rifle & Berserk.

Send worker to restore the saltpeter
Bring 2 more Sipahi to the other continent.

Persia attacks the Sipahi that had finished off the Berserk and wins.
Zulus send 1Crus, 4Impi, 3Longbows and 2 rifles to IiB!!!!

820 AD (2) :
I almost never seen an AI landing that much units at once.
Abandon Mecca. Without rioting it might have been possible to hold it.
Bombard PersCav & Zulu units.
Sipahi wins against Pers Cav
VSip wins vs ZuluRifle with promotion
Other Zulu units on other continent are destroyed.
eSword loses vs 2/4 Indian Pike
Army wins vs Indian MI
Warrior wins vs 1/4 Indian Pike and gets promoted.
Army from there moves closer to the Zulu SoD.

Zulu stack almost destroys our army.
But the last Rifel they didn't use to attack but moved him.
And they moved the last 2 Impis close to Meliville although they could have captured ATFL (there was only a 2/4 spear left)

Next Sipahi kills Impi. Army kills 2 Impis.
Still Rifle left, since he is on a mountain I didn't want to attack him with a weakened army.

Here I have accidentally hitten the restart button (only of the computer where I was doing the writeup, not the one where I was playing)

I was busy because the Zulu kept landing 4 units each turn and since once I was losing 3 Sipahis vs 2 rifles that were already bombarded down to 2hp and one to a Cav, I couldn't get on the Persians.

So, at 930 AD, I had built 2 habors to connect the continents and Physics was done, researching Magnetism.

Founded Cankiri on the southeast part of our continent.

IT (after 930 AD):
Zulu have Ironclads.
Vikings pillage once more our Saltpeter ressource.
No landings (first time since 880 AD)
2 Sips built.

940 AD (14):
Upgrade 2 galleys to Caravels.
Our Golden Age seems to be over.

IT:
MiTir riots because our Golden Age has ended.

950 AD (15):

Destroy Persian town of Sidon (which they had just founded close to where Mecca was)
Next one can go after the Persians but those landings with Rifles are very hard. Beware of the Zulus.
They seem to want NewWorld2 badly.
And I don't know what the Viking ships close to MiTir want.

As you have already seen, we are only 3 from the beginning...Things have been slower lately.
 
FYI: I'm about to post the sign-up thread for the next game, and I expect to start it on 1st August.
 
Does this mean we should finish it by then?
Or when will be the deadline for SGOTM7?

No, I'm not setting a deadline yet, just pointing out that there may be another game competing for your attention in a couple of weeks. CDZ is one of three teams who haven't yet completed this game, but are hopefully still playing.

This is where I will leave it. I leave the Leader to do with what you want with movement points.

Units are comming from everywhere. Use the Cannons wisely as they are our only savior right now. I've been considering moving the units south on to Persia but the dropp offs are to great.

With 2 armies on the new lands we should be able to go on the offensive. One for defence and one for the slaughter.

NOTE TO MODS:
I saved the game and walked away 1/2 through the turns to clear my head and get some whiskey. One extra reload here.

1080 AD : Mistfit has left me with the decision what to do with the leader.
Options: MilAc : Producing armies in our core towns will slow down the production of Sipahis, so I don't think so.
Pentagon: Increasing the size of armies won't help since if we get Galleons the transport cap. is only 4, but a full army would then need 5.
So, I create another army which I fill with just 2 units.
At least blitzing is very helpful.

IT: 1 persCav lands near ATFL.

1090 AD (1) : Knight army kills PersCav

IT: Zulu send 3 Rif&1Cav to Dragging Arse.
The people at Crazy Frog get upset by a propaganda campaign.

1100 AD (2): Bombing down the Rifles to 3hp each.
First attack with9/9army wins with no damage.
Next attack kills our army ARGH!
Wipe off the Zulu units.

Capture Arbela which was defended by 2 Rifles.

1210 AD (13): No problem wiping them off after bombarding them.

1230 AD (15): Last turn and this turn, there was not much happening, 1-2 drop offs, which were killed.

Persia moved 2 Inf close to Damascus on a hill. Bombarded them.

1250 AD (2) : PersInf have killed one Musket but other lost.Finish off w/ army.

Pers sends 1 Cav (killed)
India sends 3 units (killed)

1255 AD (3) : India sends 7 units to Tatooine (kill 4, lose 2 Sip to Pikes)
America sends 2 Cavs, which got killed after being bombarded.

1260 AD (4) : Zulus send 2 Inf to Karabuk and one to MiTir.
Vik send 2Inf and one Guerr to Dragging Arse where some cannons are.Kill them.
Kill two of the ZuluInf and the Indian units. At least a turn with no losses.

1265 AD (5) : One PersInf moves closer and one got dropped off near DrAr.
Shaka wanted to plant a spy in our capital...
Bomb one Inf down to 1hp but lose a eSip against it. e Knight finishes off.

1270 AD (6) : Vikes send 1 Inf, 1 Rifle, 2Guerr, 1MI to DrAR
India send 3 units and Shaka fails again at planting a spy.
We kill them all with no losses and finally get our next leader!
I make a pure Sip army. I already hear the Persians cry for mercy...

1275 AD (7) : Chicago has completed ToE.
Vikes send 1 Inf, Amer 2 Cavs, Zulu 1Inf&1 Guerr.
Lose 1 Sip vs Guerr, but kill all others.

1280 AD (8) : No drop-offs. A turn to recover.

1285 AD (9) : zulu send 4Inf &2 Guerr. Amer send 1 Inf.
Vikings have sabotaged of prod in Tatooine but their spy was caught.
Lose 1 Sip against a Guerrilla, but with our 2 armies we kill all units (AmerInf was bombed down and then killed by eSip)

1290 AD (10) : Persia send 1 Cav and 1 Inf
Reload after crash.
We get one more leader! Next Sip army! So with those two armies we might attack Persia soon!.

1295 AD (11) : No drop offs. So I let our armies heal to be ready.

1300 AD (12) : Vikes send 2 Inf+1Guerr.Persia send 1 Inf.
4 Sipahi built in same turn.
Kill VikUnits with cannons+mixed army. Capture Sardis which the pers had founded on the west coast.

1305 AD (13) : Vikes send 2 Inf, India 4 units to Sardis.
We get bombarded by big birds flying through the air.
Kill all those units.

1310 AD (14) : Scandinavia is now fascist and transporting their 3 Infs in transports.
India send 4 units.
Kill the Indian units.

1315 AD (15) : 3 Infs attack, two die but third kills our mixed army. No further drop offs.
Kill Inf and move some cannons closer to Sardis. Sardis has completed (rushed) library.
So, enough, next one...

IMHO we are screwed in this game. I honestly can see no way of winning. We are seeing bombers and troop transports so that means that the UN can't be far behind. Any way on to the bitter end!

Move my meagre attack force towards Persian Towns
Bomb some passing ships... because I can

Kill 1 Infantry on the mainland and 1 marine - 3 infantry left and a Cav

I've no hopes of saving Cankiri so i abandon it
It is surrounded my the infantry

Kill off 2 infantry and 1 cav near Sardis - inch closer to persepolis

IBT:
Cav takes 2 of our worker human shield and attack meliville killing one musket
on Infantry kills the pike that was in residence in Cankiri
Magnets come in and switch to banking

Kill off the wounded Cav
Kill off one Infantry at the expense of redlining our full hp knight army
Use 3 cannons and a musketman to kill the persian cav by Karabuk (It's all I had to do the job)
Move one step closer to persepolis (cannons are very slow)

IBT:
Propaganda in Endor causes rioting (I don't think I've ever seen that)
2 Infantry dropped on the southern island (I'm screwed there)

Turn 5
Bomb the infantry near dragging arse and move troops to insure they cannot take a city IBT
7 cannon shots fired at persopolis - not one hit
The persians must be in communism as they are whipping the city down

IBT:
One infantry killed a musket in Dragging arse the other is impaled attacking
No other drop offs

Turn 6
Our full hp knight army dies to the infantry south of elm
3 successful hits on persopolis and I see a rInfantry there after wounding 3 Vets
Kill off 3 rInfantry with one army
Kill off 2 more with the other army and see a Cav
Our army almost dies trying to kill the cav
Last man standing is a 1 hp infantry that killed 2 saphi and is now elite.
But I kill him with a saphi.
We take the city with Sun Tsu's and the Hanging Gardens - I'll keep it one turn to heal

IBT:
2 marines and 2 infantry dropped next to Persepolis

Turn 7
Sell off the improvements and abandon the city
Move on towards the new capital Passthegatorade (or somthing like that)

IBT:
The 2 marines and 2 infanrty nearly kill off both of our saphi armies but somehow they survive.

Turn 8
I kill the units off.
Need a turn or 2 to rest and recoup


IBT:
2 marines and 2 infantry dropped next to meliville
Indians drop 2 pikes a MI and a Lb next to New World 2

Turn 9
Kill off 2 Marines and 1 of the Infantry creating another Leader (make army)
One Infantry left
No Troops to deal with the indian threat

Pikes piliage and scatter

Turn 10
Kill the last wounded infantry with my new saphi army (1 unit) I load him up and ship him to the new world
Kill one of the 2 pikes the other is redlined

The Americans drop 2 infantry also
Both on the mainland

Turn 11
Bring back the Saphi Army and load 2 more units wounded attacking the Zulu threat outside of AtFL
Can do nothing about the Americans
Kill the last indian pike
Do My best to protect cities

That went better than I figured>
I had put a rMusket on the mountain to the south of AtFL to keep them from getting the higher ground
He defended against 2 of the Infantry and the Marine and redlined the other infantry before getting killed
Lost another musket in the south to the American Infantry
Persians drop an Infantry by New world

Turn 12
I kill one of the 2 redlined infantry but lose the last knight army in the process still one left and the 2 infantry in the south
Wound the Infanrty near New World with cannons

Do some praying

Move units towards pasargade

Kill off both remaining infantry on the mainland with the Saphi Army
Kill off the Persian units outside of Karabuk

Put an extra unit in Damascus to defend against the Cav

Move the SOD outside of Pasagarde

attack Pasargadae with cannons reveal 2 Vet Inf and a scad of conscripts
Likk both Vets and attack a redlined conscript with a yellow saphi army and the army looses. I have no more troops to hit it with

Kill 3 war elephants with the Saphi army still 7 units left

Take Pasargadae from the Persians The Capital Jumps to the far side of the Americans

Settle a town called Kicking and Screaming Near Pasargadae

Barley defeat the large Indian stack our Army has 1 HP left

Kill the tank and the Infantry from the vikings
Mop up the remaining Indian units
Decide to keep Ptown as it is pretty low on the flip chance scale
Settle beach House between the 2 lakes W of Damascus

IBT:
The Zulu suprize me by attacking P-town with Marines and take the city killing my Army
The Vikes drop another tank. I have nothing to hit it with

Turn 17
Move and pray

This is where I'm going to have to stop I'm getting sloppy because I'm tired.

More tanks showed up in the south. Those towns cannot be defended. My suggestion is to abandon Sardis and Kicking and screaming and retreat to the Beach House.

One unit dropped on the mainland. Nothing has been moved

The Caravels are headed to block our channel I've not had anyone attack our ships the whole time so maybe we can stem the tide of attackers to the mainland

The Viking Bombers are really killing us in the south. They are what keep knocking down our units from healing in sardis

I think that was 17 or 18 turns but I actually lost track somewhere
