Shall we play a game?

I finished my turn set for the day. I wanted to eliminate Monty and Cathy by 1600 but fell a tad short of my goal. I'm going to forecast a domination victory in th mid 1700s here.

Still trading with Fred giving him very good deals. Saves me a couple turns and he is no threat to me. If I ever invade him, it'll be with infantry or better so no worries here.

Let's finish off Monty. 1600 is the goal!

civ4screenshot0117rc2.jpg

I finish the SoL.

Mansa and Hatty agreed to peace so I incited another war. Saved two turns on Steam Power to boot!

Washington turned in to quite the GP farm. Perhaps taking it in the beginning of the game would have been a good idea. Anyway, I matched this guy with an old prophet for another golden age.

The war with Monty is going very easy since he has no horses.

Check out this war weariness!! It's pretty bad in my established cities too.

civ4screenshot0131zi6.jpg

Monty was extermined in 1610. Just missed my goal. He provided a bunch of promotions for my troops and I think my guys are unstoppable now. Cannons, grenadiers, rifles, trebs and infantry.

I finished off Cathy as well. That'll remove some unhappiness from the Russian cities.

civ4screenshot0135wf2.jpg

Here's a shot of my troops. Those shown on the bottom are in Tenochtitlan and those on the left are in Calixlauhuuhuhudfhd. I'm just going to let them heal a couple turns, upgrade most to infantry and then enter Hatty's land.

Since she is still at war with Mansa, most of her troops should be to the north. I'm going to guess she'll capitulate to me pretty quickly and then I can either attack Mansa or Fred.

civ4screenshot0137hm3.jpg

If I want, I could get Military tradition from Fred and Communism from Hatty.

Not sure if I need either. 1 turn from combustion so Mansa is probably only has 2 techs on me. Physics ++

I have a huge lead in everything. Probably go after Mansa instead of Fred. Anyway, I've always had the opinion that you can't really call it a domination victory unless you can dominate the #1 AI.

As always, I'm in awe of your play. It seems like you win so effortlessly

I was surprised how well this game went tech-wise in the early goings, even though you had fewish cottages and didn't run any scientists. Those commerce specials (gold, wine, etc.) must have gone a long way :)

Well done

Very impressive!

I agree with cabert, capitulate Hatty first and then head for Timbuktu. Maybe it is not possible before 1700 though. But after all, very nice game!

mansa's a chicken anyway.
hit the capital straight, and take him as a vassal
you could still win in the 1600es

1600s is pushing it. I need to raise some money before I invade Hatty to begin with. Since she has cavs, I have to upgrade my grenadiers to infantry or they'll all get smashed.

It definitely helped at the very beginning and then the shrine income got me through a rough patch to where I could run the economy by sacking Russia.

Thanks and I definitely intend to vassalize them both. If I can upgrade my cannons to artillery by the time I enter the Kingdom of Mali, he doesn't stand a chance.

Also I forgot to attach the save game from the last turn so here it is. Does anyone actually look at the saves?

This game is coming to a dominating conclusion. The goal is to capitulate Hatty and plan out the next war.

I demanded a tech from Hatty just to see if she'd go for it. No dice!

civ4screenshot0140kx1.jpg

So I invaded.

civ4screenshot0143vf1.jpg

I showed no mercy. Her cavs were woefully inadequate against my unstoppable army.

civ4screenshot0144ty7.jpg

Three cities fell before she came to the foregone conclusion that she could not defeat me.

Actually she would have agreed the turn before I took the last two but I needed Heliopolis for myself to upgrade my cannons to artillery so I waited a turn.

I traded for her techs and gave her some oil. Mansa is likely next so she needs a proper navy to defend.

civ4screenshot0147wh6.jpg

Hmm... But how about Fred? He looks mighty weak himself. Maybe I could go for Fred instead. Or I could go for both of them.

How's that for a domination win?

Stay tuned for the next and likely final installment. Let's conquer the entire world!! A Domiconqueration victory!

Okay here's the finale.

civ4screenshot0149hu8.jpg

I started off by completing Mount Rushmore. Didn't really need it, just building stuff to build it.

civ4screenshot0151do8.jpg

My troops made it to Germany first so I started by sacking Berlin. I am extremely close to a domination win right now ~63% landmass so this will be only only German city I keep. If I take any others, they will be razed.

civ4screenshot0155cw1.jpg

Shortly thereafter I invaded Mansa. He's actually very close to tanks so it is a good time to invade.

civ4screenshot0156kl4.jpg

Starting to accumulate GPs here. Since I can't start another golden age they are pretty much worthless.

civ4screenshot0159cq7.jpg

I flattened another German city and Fred was ready to talk capitulation.

civ4screenshot0160sv1.jpg

I had to time this right so they would both capitulate at the same time since one was more than enough to put me over the top.

civ4screenshot0161hb8.jpg

Mansa throws in the towel as well.

Nuked countrysides...

Toppled everyone who opposed us!

We are CAESAR!

Well, setting aside all the hyperbole, I thought it was a good game.

If anyone wants to replay one of the saves, feel free to post the results here.

Thanks. I wish, though, the map didn't turn out to be a near pangea map. It would have been much more challenging if my continent stopped at either Cathy or Monty and the other had their own landmass.
