As an act of mercy Emperor Jiajing offers the remnants of the once Great Empire of Portugal peace under the following conditions:

1. Portugal shall become a tributary state of the Empire of the Great Ming.
2. Portugal will join any war the Ming Empire is involved in.
3. Portugal can freely trade with all Ming's tributary states.
4. Portuguese scholars are welcome at the University of Nanking.
5. This treaty will be in effect as soon as Portugal has signed a peace treaty with their enemies.

Stats have been updated. They have also reached the point where a second post is now required. Asian and Middle Eastern stats are just south of the usual post.

HRE Stats still need to be updated, and need to be split into Catholic and Protestant.

Deadline for Turn 5 - 1539 - 1540 is Sunday 21st December 2008, 12 noon GMT +10.

I know this is under the 4 day minimum I set, however it is the best time for me to get an update in. I will also be aiming to updated on the 25th (Christmas present) and if time permits another one before New Years.

I think you will find, chum, that I offered the states in the PCE ludicrously reasonable terms when I first saw your secession. Which is to say, guarantees of religious freedom and the expulsion of the Swiss from the HRE, because of their violence against Protestants. In other words, I pretty much pointed out that there is safety in numbers, that y'all would be better off in a bigger Empire, but that is apparently unacceptable to your lot.

I spent 4 IC on increasing Education, not Stability, to 80%. Please fix this.

Also, with Advanced Mathe. there should have been additional increase in Education.
