Would you like to see Hero units (mythological demigods or semi-mythical figures) return in Civilization VII, but this time with an expanded roster? Personally, I'm a fan of Mythology, so I had that mode on from the moment it was released in Civilization VI. I also liked the strategic twist it brought to the table with the Heroes' unique abilities.

If they choose to do modes like Heroes and Legends again there should be some ground rules (for me personally)

1. At the end of the games development cycle
2. Repeating modes to a minimum (Personally I would rather new set of modes entirely if they do go down that route)

No, not really.

I feel like there are much more content to add before Myht & Legends. Most likely those will be in a small DLC, and toward the end of CIV7 (after the most likely two big DLC, as it is generally done in CIVs).

I feel that the mods we had in CIV6 by the end were more ideas they had during creaction that did not fit in the DLCs, so were cut out.

i'd prefer a separate spin-off game over a fantasy mode in civ tbh.

They should not only return, but the mechanics should be greatly expanded upon, just as Barbarian Clans mode was refined into Independent Peoples.

I'd love for Mythological Heroes to essentially double as unique Commanders, a universal Great People list, and Governors

For example, Arthur could lead troops into battle, with a huge Combat Bonus to the Knights in his command radius
By winning battles, he unlocks the Historia Regum Britanniae codex, the Holy Grail relic, and the Excalibur artifact, in Antiquity, Exploration, and the Modern Age, respectively
Alternately, by stationing him in a Town Center, all Fortifications in that town receive increased defense

All civs would have be able to pull from a subset of the total list of Heroes.
The Normans and Prussians might get mostly figures from Germanic and Scandinavian Mythology
The Normans and French might share a list of knights from Arthuriana
The French and Prussians might share some paladins.
The Greeks and Romans have Heroes such as Hercules, Odysseus, Perseus, Theseus, Jason, and Aeneas
The Chinese and Japanese might share certain Samurai and figures from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Etc...

I'd also love for Corporations to see a return and renewed focus
Less so Secret Societies, though I wouldn't be opposed, per se.
Definitely no zombies

Civ 7 would be the best platform for it, especially when we have the seperated Antiquity Age.

Heros and Magics Mode for the Antiquity Age
Crusaders and Kings Mode for the Exploration Age
Hearts and Irons Mode for the Modern Age

I'm not joking. I want more specific gameplay mode for each Age boosting mood of it.

Yeah, that’s better than my idea.
Age specific Heroes could be a way to sneak in the American Great People we were denied because of the Prospector.
The Modern Age could have Revolutionaries/Founding Fathers and Entrepreneurs

I think some fantasy modes should return, ideally not an exact copy of the Civ6 modes, but mythological heroes are not a bad fit in a Civ game, myths have been as important as real facts to shape our history.
Obviously this should be way down the development, after critical bug fixing, after optimization, after addition of new civs (for the first time we need those DLC civs with the ages system dividing the pool in 3, they won't feel like bloatware) and (possibly) after adding a 4th age that goes into the future (sci-fi will feel more natural than fantasy in Civ, even thought i think both have their place).
Also obviously it should be an optional mode, not everyone enjoys fantasy so it shouldn't be thrown at the throat of those who don't, but as an optional mode for those who like it : then i think it should definitely return in some form or another.

The New Froniter Pass modes were of very little value to me personally. They were kind of a fun novelty, but mostly fit very poorly into the game, often being completely overpowered. My favourite was probably Apocalypse mode, which was stupid but bring the meteors crashing down just reminded me of similar disasters in SimCity or Worms Armageddon.

At their best they were half-baked implementations of things that could be fully-fleshed out game systems. This is somewhat what has happened with Barbarian Clans and the new Independent People, and similarly I think Heroes (as well as Bolívar’s comandantes generales) were a prototype of the way Great People now function in Civ 7.

I could also see Corporations returning at some point, but they would have to be balanced a lot better than they were in Civ 6!

I must admit that corporations were the modules I liked best (althougth due to map generation it could be difficult to reach a monopole while some other times a 3 ressource monopoly was a given...). It could be fitted in the modern age, but I fear there would need to be another mechanism released at the same time to balance the different victory roads (corporation most likely boosting economic victory, but not really the others...).

As for the other modules:
- Heroes and legends: why not during the antiquity? The best way to integrate it, in fact would be to tie it with neutral powers, where you could attract "heroes" through diplomacy (in that way it could be applied in all ages).
- zombies defence: could be a fun crisis (in a package of "unhinged crisis"?)
- secret society: why not add it to antiquity (a variation of beliefs) or exploration? You can think of 4 different societies, each affiliated with one victory condition.
- Apocalypse: well, why not, it would just be a "insane level disasters", just have to think of a variation of the Soothsayer for exploration and modern.
- Dramatic ages: as such not applicable, since there is no equivalent mechanism in 7 to loyalty or era points...
