SID on pangaea

Played 6 turns: we've lost reputation when Brandenburg flipped to Germans (saltpeter that we were exporting was near Brandenburg).

Got a leader, razed a town, captured Lisht and founded one new town.
We will have furs and iron in 2 or 3 turns. Offensive is easy as I mainly follow Persian stack of 80 units (mainly knights).

Learned Metallurgy and swapped it for Physics with Germans. Researching MT.

We are getting war happinness from Mongols (they declared when i asked to leave our territory).

Will finish turns in a day or two.

Do you know if our MA reputation also gone? We are still at war with Inca, so? To check ask somebody who knows Babylon if they agree to go MA for gpt? vs Mongols say. [just to check...]

330 AD: MM for some gold, food and shields;
Keep researching Metallurgy;
Inca will give Metallurgy for peace and 600 gold but of course we can’t make peace as we are tied with MA’s for 15 turns;
Metallurgy is worth around 45 gpt and 600 gp to buy from other AI’s;
It seems America will be destroyed soon as they are at war with top dogs and are losing some cities;

IBT: Mongols and Persia sign alliance vs Inca;
China and Persia MA vs Inca;
2 horses, a knight and LB built this turn;
Inca bomb Enkidu with trebuchet; few knights and other Incan troops approach us;

340AD: 11 (4LB’s, 2 knights, 5 pikes) Incan units can attack our towns on IBT, a stack of 10 more units just outside of our borders;
Mongols got some gold from Persia, trade Theology for 227 gold with them;
Sell WM for some gold around;
Kill 7 Incan units and lose 1; still 2 attack4 units can attack us next turn;
Gather intelligence about Inca’s movement with explorer – see 2 pikes and a knight at least coming next turn;

IBT: we kill 1 attacking knight and lose a musket in Incan attack (8-2);
Incan knight unloaded near Sumer;
Some of Inca’s approaching units turn back
Settler and a horsemen produced this turn;

350AD: WW hits, raise lux to 50% and still have to employ some clowns;
Lose horse to Incan knight near Sumer(no damage inflicted), decide to cover towns and units that knight can reach instead of attacking. Rush a treb, LB nearby, next turn 2 more horses will be produced in that area.
We go 3-1 this turn with attacks(11-3 total), capture the infamous Incan trebuchet that was bombarding us;
Scout a bit and slowly advance to Incan territory;
Trade WM around, get a profit of 100 gold

IBT: kill LB and lose horse on defence (12-4);
2 Settlers. 2 horses, treb and a knight produced this turn;

360AD: Americans lost a town with harbour but still trade route is intact;
kill Incan knight near Sumer with a loss of LB;
Raze Incan Caxamalca (14-5)

IBT: around 40 Persian knights approach Lisht;
Brandenburg flips to Germans

370AD: PC crashes, reload from autosave;
Kill 4 units capturing Lisht and get a leader in process;
Notice WW has struck again;
Trade WM for a few coins;
Notice 2 Mongolian galleys are in uor territory, we need happiness – make them furious and insist to leave our territory – they declare war;
Lower lux signing few clowns because of new source of War Happinnes;
Notice our reputation is lost when we lost Brandenburg with the only source of saltpetre which we were trading;
Kill 2 more Incan knights in the open (20-5);
Make a 3 knight army with a leader;

IBT: lose horse and explorer on defence (20-7);

380AD: kill injured Incan musket and eliminate a stack of 8 units, kill 2 knights in the open without losses (31-7);

IBT: Germany and Russia sign MPP;
3hp horse kills Incan knight on defence (32-7)

390AD: switch research to ToG as entering IA faster is better now than getting cavs (we need railroads, mobilization and riflemen);
Bomb and kill Incan pike 33-7;

IBT: Mongols and America sign peace;

400AD: found a town near furs, lower lux tax;
Kill 3 units in Chuito and raze the town (36-7);
Found a town where Chuito used to be and we have iron;
Bomb and kill 2 Incan pikes on the open but lose a knight (38-8);

410AD: Germans have ToG;


Kill Incan pikemen and..get a leader (39-8), fortify leader in Tutub;

Since trade Rep and RoP Rep lost only MA Rep remain. Sure, we will keep it as possible, so 7 turns at war vs Inca. After that we will see shall we kill them all or get something useful for peace.
Note, that Trade Rep did not 100% lost. Thouse who at war with Babs are OK to trade.
We may use trick of borrowing money in combination with MPP.

I think we will continue ToG.

In general our land build-up was very chaotic and therefore it is very difficult to compite in research with Big Dogs.

From another hand we most probably "survive" in long term so we may think how to organize things better. Palace jump? Mongols capture?

as America is almost gone, sell them physics for 23 gold

Egypt has saltpeter available, but we do not have Mil Trad yet, so no point for now
settle a coastal area closer to our core
rush a settler for 24 gold

IT we are lucky as Persia just fails to take Juli from Inca, they are short of killing 2 redlined units

5. 1870AD
take Juli and advance towards Huamanga
rush another two settlers for 84 gold

as we could make peace now, check what Inca would give and we wouldn't even get MT

Persia has one extra resource, we can get it from them for 29gpt, we should

Russia and Persia have electricity and Indust, the rest is behind us in tech

I did not abandon Huamanga and Juli yet, but we should replace in those areas

Get the coal, it's cheap.

Rush some settlers to claim the open land asap. We can rush at leat 6 this turn. That would reduce upkeap as well, and we'll earn that investment back in 5-6 turns.Could also settle north of Marad after clearing marsh.

MM cities this can be a lot more efficient.

I'd minimize research to grow forces stronger. Upgrade horses and knights.

Maybe give China iron and horses, and after a while let them join war with Mongols. Land there and claim the land from south up. Pillaging the Mongol iron will be easy.

We could use the pentagon and heroic epic.

Longer term targets Germany and Egypt. They aren't that strong.

Palace jump might help, but will take long time before it's effective, reimproving the land.

Juli might be saveable, if we starve it. could sned some obsolte inits into it. We really need to replace Hua, but will take at least 4 turn to get there. Risk is to big so we shouls abandon it now. Several other cities have small flip risks as well. May be get round of sttlers then rush some culture.

If we jump where do we go, maybe Susa? But I'm affraid it will take very long to get productive again.

We can hand build the HE, in hindsight I might have rushed the pentagon with the leader, a 4th army was important too, though :sad:
 
I think "Army now" always better then "more armies in future".
Also don't know If Pentagon really helps.
Can't look at save now, do we have Saltpeter?
When we strike Germany?
 
Could attack Germany soon after upgrading to cav's. Then we should play defensive war against Mongols. Germany will give more productive land if we jump palace so might be better. Egypt will be relatively easy target after that. We have saltpeter as we are building cavs. Pentagon will be big help when we face rifles.

Indeed better not to desturb Mongols much to have happy war as long as possible.

If we think about Palace jump we may do it to the foring capital that has important wonder.

It is resonable to build corthouses first at "old core".

I think Electricity -> RepPart is the most resonable route.

Agree to slow down research a bit to upgrade to cavs.

At war with Germany better bring Egypt and Persia to help. ((MA with Babylon, gift City to Babylon and their MPP will drag Persia to war).

I see one easy way how to win this pretty fast:
-forget infrastructure, build just units, balance between cannons, cavs and defenders;also workers, settlers for specialist farms and increased unit support;
-go full steam for Rep Parts, we can research it I guess in 25-30 turns;
-while going for RepParts we could declare war on Germany or Egypt for some resources and territory; MOBILIZE for more shields;
-when we get Rep Parts we should have pretty big chunk of units;turn off research, upgrade units to artys and infantries, declare war on Persia and bring the world against them; Persia has 20K gold, every captured city will fund our economy nicely;

I mean all we need to win is arties and infantries and to get big numbers of them ASAP via mobilization.
