Should I first ask members of a team if I can join, or just mention it here? If not I'd like to join team 4 (Cavaleiros), if only to mostly lurk.

You don't need to ask the team members for permission. The whole point of this game is that anyone and everyone is welcome to join.

OK, not that this is really a problem per se, but it is kinda odd that almost every single new person to ask to join the game wants to join the Cavs. Do they know something we don't?
