Hi I have 2 questions

1. How specifically does simultaneous turns work? I checked the info center and google etc but I can't find a detailed explaination for this mode. (eg, if an american settler is adjacent to a roman warrior, and it'd normally be america's turn ... what happens in simultaneous mode? can the roman warrior attack before american settler moves?)

2. more general: How do you set up a 3 person LAN game? ie what equipment is necessary?

1. Speed of the player - make sure when the turn ends you are ready to move those units! A bit unfair in some situations, but a good player would never send a settler out unprotected.
When you have both built a wonder on the same turn it can be a bit annoying.....

2. Network cards in each machine, CAT5 network cable and a network hub.
Set up IP addresses on all the machines and enjoy.

I have started a 2-player simultaneous game with my son, but now that we both see our starting units and surrounds, we cannot get the units to do anything. They accept orders but do not act on them. What am I missing???

Have they already moved for the turn? If you tell them to make a multi-turn move, they will move once the next turn starts before you get to give them another order. Then, when you try to give them an order it becomes the default order for the next turn. Only thing I could think of.

Thanks for the reply. I figured out the problem eventually. We actually had both started our own games and the game was waiting for all the other players orders. Live and learn.

Now if I could just get a consistent enough wireless connection to play a full turn....
