Sirp's Training Day Game for Aspiring Monarchs

Great work guys!

We have comprehensively defeated the game on Monarch. It was unfortunate that our victory was so comprehensive that we didn't get the opportunity to do much trading and brokering, but I'm sure you guys can teach yourselves how to do that well.

I'm looking at running another training game sometime either on Emperor or (!!) Deity. Matt_g, Stormrider, and Renata in particular I think are fairly close to being Deity-ready.

Shaesha and CivGeneral, I think you should both try winning a single-player Regent or Monarch game to get practice. I think you've both learnt a great deal from this game, and just have a few fundamentals to learn.

If people are interested in being part of another TDG, please let me know either here or by private message, including the level you'd prefer the game to be at.

Also, I thought I'd give a plug for this game - it's a single player game I'm playing with some others over at Realms Beyond - everyone plays, and when everyone is done, reports on how each player did are exchanged. The game is a Monarch level game, but with some special rules which make it especially bent toward warmongering: in it you may not build any Great Wonder, and if anyone does build a Great Wonder, you must instantly declare war on them, and not make peace until you have destroyed the Wonder. Also, you may not attack any cities that do not have Wonders in them. Should be lots of fun, and you'd all be welcome to play.

I'd be interested in the Deity TDG, if you run it at that level... of course, HOT3 will succeed in beating Deity in the end but I'd like any opportunity for analysis of my :weed: I can get at that level. (BTW, if you didn't see it already, comments from the peanut gallery in HOT3 are welcome, at least on my turns.)

I am interested in Going into a TDG that you sponser Sirp . Though I wish I was Deity Ready . I have been playing a Monarch game before and I feel that I am ready to advance . I feel that I am ready to advance up the Difficulty Level .

I know I would be Bored to tears playing on the same Difficulty level for a month.

@ Sirp -- would love another TDG. Whichever level - since I've yet to so much as start a game at either emperor or deity, I'll have to trust your judgment. Will this still be 1.14, or are you planning to go to 1.21?

@ Stormrider -- could you post the final save? I'd like it for my PTW HOF, which at the moment is looking rather pitiful with just one chieftain level OCC victory and one pre-1000 BC dry start-aggressive neighbors-bad RNG military loss.

@sirp: Being that Hot3 has so far been shall we say "difficult" I would also be interested in a Deity TDG. From the looks of it there is a bunch of interest.

Ok, looks like there's overwhelming demand for a Deity Training Day Game (if it can be called that!)

I think I've learnt my lesson from this game that any more than 5 players in a game is asking for trouble, so I'll have to limit it to me + 4 others.

That means that Borealis, Matt_g, Renata, and Stormrider would be on the roster.

@CivGeneral: I'm sorry, but I don't think that you're quite ready for Deity yet. I'm sure you will be one day, but you'll probably be best at least trying to play Emperor first. You are welcome however, to play shadows of the game, and send them to me for analysis. Indeed if your shadows are sufficiently good, I may reconsider my opinion. (Likewise anyone else who doesn't play is welcome to shadow).

@bewareofgnomes: I know you asked to play in any other TDG I ran earlier, but likewise I'm not sure you'd be quite ready for Deity yet.

@hotrod: I'm really sorry, I know that you've been progressing well, and I've been watching your progress in HOT3 and Sirian's Infantry Variant, but everyone else asked first. You can be an extra that can play if someone else drops out though.

I have been meaning to make some comments in HOT3, but I haven't had the time, I'm sorry.

Oh, and, the game would be played under 1.14f. 1.21f refuses to work on my computer for some reason. Something to do with the copy protection I think, but apparently there is no no-copy-protection patch for PTW. I am currently sorting it out with Infogrames, but it's looking like they can't help me, other than their technical support officer dropping really broad hints that the best way for me to get it working would be to search for a crack that circumvents use of the CD.

If I do get it working before the game starts, it will be played under 1.21f if all listed players can play with that patch; otherwise it'll be 1.14f.

How would I know if I am ready for a Deity game ?. Thats it Ill Shaddow you then. Err, How do I send a Shaddow Game? I feel that I am ready for a Deity TDG. I have been partisipating in the Demogame long enough to be ready for Deity, and they are on Emperor. I am already Bored to tears in Emperor .

CivGeneral starts to look for Demogame Players that Will Vouch for him since the Demogame is on an Empreror Difficulty Level

Sirp, can I join in on a deity training day game? I've played monarch and emperor games before (mainly GOTMs), and have been able to hold my own - not to mention my trading finesse in the demogame. So, I'd like to join in.

I have Good news, I have Defeated Emperor Level by way of Conquest . I had forgot to mention that I was working on an Emperor Game earlyer . I beleve I am ready to move on to a more Challenging Level .

@CivGeneral: I'm sorry but none of the turns you played in this TDG were evidence to me that you're quite ready for Deity yet. If you shadow the Deity game and send me the saves and you do really well, I may reconsider my opinion on this.

@Chieftess: I'm sorry but you're the (!!) 7th person whose expressed interest in this and the game hasn't even been started yet. So uhh...there really is no room I'm afraid

BTW, I would be interested in seeing if a e-mail sent from you gets to me. I never did get that earlier mail. I'm wondering if that was an isolated incident or if my ISP is blocking a domain etc.
