I think the pointless ones are those king, queen, egyptian etc. smilies, the sniper ones and just generally all that are big.

The viking and the egypt both seem to have a purpose, just a very limited one. The ninja on the other has no purpose IMO, and is only used when people spamming their posts with smilies.
