SNEAK PEAK: Interstellar Colonization AND cIVRPG

quick question fox: in the cIVRPG will you be able to build alliances or parties for quests?

A good idea (i would like to mention) is looking at other successfull rpgs (for expamle final fantasy, or an rpg that you like) for insperation and ideas that you can hack, change, and make your own.

You could say that I've been developing cIVRPG as a prototype based on an idea, and not a gamedesign. So the answer to the first question is that I havnt thought about that, and also, I dont know if I've already messed up the chance to play Multiplayer with the mod. (alot of Randomness and pickling). But that is a good idea.

Once I get back to cIVRPG I need to sit down and make a basic design. Not just add ideas as they come. I'm not saying I wont add ideas as they come, to quote Shigeru Miyamoto, the best ideas often come during implementation of the original design. (that was not his words, I dont remember them exactly and couldnt find it either)

Yup, i've "stolen" alot from lineage 2 so far. And I take inspiration from every game I've played. We'll see what cIVRPG will be like when its done. I dont know yet ;)

They are either a Specialist, or working on a Colonized planet. They cant work on a planet that hasnt been colonized.

I've added more types of specialists, and Im using theLopez specialists stacker to show them all. (modified it a bit to be able to show, 2 or 3 more since the original version can only show 5 specialist types on the left column).

Specialists can now also give Happiness (not so powerful as it would have been in normal Civ4, since PopCap limits population growth anyways), health and Military Production. I'm thinking about adding +Experience, and Experience to CombatType aswell.

At the moment, Great People units are the only units that can stand on a Star tile, since they are spawned on the city. And need to be on the city to add their effect.
 
Sounds like you're really thinking outside the box here, and a number of these things sound like stuff I've been looking to implement, so aside from the fact that they look cool in their own right, it'll help me gauge whether my own mod will be able to function with all of the changes. In particular, taking the emphasis away from the city, which has been sort of the be all and end all in Civ up to now is what has me most intrigued.
 
Quick question, do the planets orbit the sun in IC? I'm really interested to see how it turns out.

Also, is there going to be a spacerace type of victory (doesn't have to be victory)? maybe the race to hyperspace?

I'm not sure about the victories yet. I'm thinking about something combining the technological victory from Galactic Civilizations with and the Ascent to Transcendence from SMAC. (The first only requiring techs to win, the other additional projects)
 
Also, are you going to do all of it by yourself? I mean is there going to be a team? and if so will there be seperate teams for cIVRPG and IntCol?
 
Well people have expressed they want to help. And it would be nice to continue the projects with a team.
It would probably be two different teams, with people working on both if they feel like it.
 
Well Kael put out FfH all by himself and has acquired a team since, so maybe that's a possibility?

Sounds like a natural process to me.
 
Totally fantastic! Unfortunatly I'm too busy now to be of much help but please feel free to use any of my units that could fit to the design of the rpg and also pillage the WH-mod as you please after it's released:)
Also can't wait to see the instellar Mod in action. Great work!
 
Wow, the space mod is awesome. Great to see something off the ground. I really like how you treated the settlements.
 
Looks amazing! Can't wait until the 1st version comes out!
