[SNEAK PEEK] GraveMod (a NEW ModPack for Warlords on the way!)

I second Impaler's suggestion to incorporate Modular Loading in the civs, units, etc. It would be the easiest way to add customization, versatility, and expandability.

Grave are you going to add mapscripts&maps.

I agree. :goodjob:

Maps, yes. Scripts? Hmmm... never thought of that before... :mischief:

Grave need any tester's:)

Not yet... I've been working on SDK for the past few weeks. Visual Comparer sceenshots are soooooo boring!

Grave need any tester's:)

I will when I finish up. :mischief:

January was two months ago??

Yeah, I guess I should go and update the first post.

** UPDATE **

I've been working my ass off at work the past week, so I haven't done much of anything the past week. Before I proceed further, I decided to re-compile my SDK files from scratch. Some of the MODCOMPS I added to it several months ago have since been updated, so I decided I would just re-compile from scratch with all updated SDK components. It's not that bad, really, since I'm only doing the SDK portion and not the XML/Python that some of the MODCOMPS come with. Should be done here soon with that.

After that, I'm back on my original schedule... gonna do the Civics, then Religions. Then I'll probably polish up some of the Buildings/Wonders. After that, I think I'll be ready for a beta.

Grave, with all due respect the feature creep induced delays in this mod are outrageous, its been in completely closed development for something like 4 moths now and it looks like theirs several more moths to go at this pace. Its great that you have planned an ambitious mod pack but after all this teasing people deserve an interim release which not only generates interest in your mod but also serves to find bugs and provide feedback on balance issues. If people don't see something soon the term 'vapor mod' is going to start getting tossed around. I'd recommend you release now with your older DLL and then again once the newer one is done followed by additional versions as the other big pieces come online.

Actually, try almost 6 months.

While I see what you're saying, I don't want to release a "half-assed" product, either. I'd rather take a year to develop this mod correctly (at my pace) then to rush through it and release a shoddy, bug ridden beta test. My work schedule has been really hectic as of late, so I haven't been able to feverishly work on it like I had been able to in late 2006.

That's why I do my best to throw an update in, to let people know this project isn't vapor ware. Trust me, man... I'll git er' done. I'd say I'm about 90-95% complete. The SDK merging really is a non-issue, should be done with it today. I'm happy with the Civic balancing I've done a few months ago, so I'm going to keep most of it and only tweak as needed, which saves alot of time. The Religions I have a really good idea on what I want to trim down on, so that will take no time at all. The Buildings/Wonders I need to tweak a little, but I can get that done in a weekend.

Also, keep in mind this is my first "big, stand alone" Modpack, so I'm not a professional at making these. Sometimes I take two steps back to take big leap forward. But it will get done. I really don't want to do a "partial" release just keep interest in this mod. Once it's finished, I'll do a beta. Because alot of things tie in with each other, and if I only release what I have now, alot of things may not work like they were designed.

But seriously, thanks for the criticism... I like honest feedback. :goodjob:

hey grave just checking on how things are goingon your mod hopefully things are going smoothly havent heard anything in a week you must be having hell at work . I know too well that when work sucks you dont feel like doing anything so good luck

Any updates on this, I don't want to declare this mod dead but I will if I have too...

I don't think it's fair to declare it dead just yet... Grave's just been really busy lately and there are still quite a few loose ends to be tied up.

@Grave:
Speaking of that, I should report that I haven't had time to compile many great statesmen / doctor names for you lately, but I'm still working on it. Doesn't look like there's a rush, though. :)

Don't you think it's lacking a bit of respect and thoughtfulness to actually threaten someone to declare a project dead, while this guy worked his butt off to finish it and just does not have the time to complete it at the moment? I mean if it would have been two months or so ago the developer posted the last time I might understand this, but after two weeks?
I don't wish to offend you, but please reconsider this.

The fact that Grave has not been on here in 12 days is not indicative of a complete abandonment of all his projects; I did nothing on CFC for about the same period a few weeks ago. The moral of the story is, there's more to life than Civilization! :D (Really!)

I was mostly joking and trying to prod Grave into releasing, hes such a tease with all the 'its almost done, just one more tiny piece to do, oooh no wait huge feature creep addition, restart something from scratch, please wait another month' talk.

I was wondering Grave,

1. Why is Hitler's favourite religion, Judaism
2. Why don't you add the Revolution mod to your mod plus perhaps the Inquisition mod
