Enjoy. These topics use only the most out-of-the-ordinary strategies. Things like: stealing enemy tech to appease your allies... building up factories, power plants, etc. during peace and cranking up the production when you really need it... and even bribing freindly units to relieve your bursting $ supply. I hate democracy. Republic, too. I can only use communism and fundamentalism. Democracy just doesn't work for a military civilization.

I hate Democracy too because once the zulus (I had a cease fire with them and zuluia was the only city on the zulu contenent )broke a cease fire and attacked the city zuluia with a helicopter and two cruse missles then paratroped a unit into the city thus taking it over,
once the evil zulus took the city over my patriotic celt partisons tooks the hill near zuluia and I precided to advance on the city.
once I got near the city (I am democracy at this point)the zulus contacted me I said I dont want to contact them but my senente overruled me and made a ceasefire and a peace agrement. (My senete over ruled me and forced me Into a PEACE AGREMENT WITH THE DAMM ZULUS AND I COULD NOT ATTACT THE CITY BECAUSE MY SENETE CONTINUDED TO OVER RULE ME!!!)
well that pissed me off and I then had a revilution and became fundimentalit so the senete no longer had any damm say in what I do.
after that I took back the city and gave money to every other civ to declare war on the zulus and wiped them out!!

so in conclusion because of what happend then, I hate democracy and republic!

Democracy is good in peace time and if you must rebuild your army or some thing. But before you start a war make sure to du a revolution!

I like REVOLUTION! POWER TO THE PEOPLE! No wait, power to ME!

Don't worry folks...in the Greater Civilizations upgrade that I am working on...Communism is the way to go...I've replaced Fundamentalism and added Socialism to the Government Selection. I've also changed Despotism to Dictatorship. I've beefed up the governements to make them more equal than before so that you can actually fight a war and maintain your civ with less worry...

It would be great if Fundamentalism had full science, even with unhappiness.
No, wait. That's Communism.
In a multiplayer hotseat game, I usually have at least 1 civ on Democracy to grow the cities.
I don't think unhappiness due to war is very accurate: Americans increased their production during world wars and the cold war. I think war should only make people on the same continent unhapy.
We only got mad in Vietnam because it was a losing battle, and the drafts were too intrusive. (Did you ever hear "Alice's Restaurant"?)

ok, this is what i do, make peace with everyone, then change do democracy, get a really big civilisation, get all the war tech you wan't. then start building you army, but keep it in your citys so you do get unhappyness. then when you want to start the war, change to fundamentle, pu thte science right down, coz you ain't gonna do much science anyway, and whoop thir ass!

That's exactly the way i play

Democracy is great for Peacetime and military build-up but when it comes to war i switch to fundamentalism/communism.

So, back to the subject. (Don't they have a topic for governments?)
Here's a sneaky idea:
If you're a Fundamentalist and you have tons of FANATICS, surround your inland cities with them. (Okay, that's not too sneaky.)
Second, on coasts close to your enemy, cover them w/ fanatics one square deep, leaving NO coast squares uncovered, even if it just touches a corner. If the enemy comes w/ a transport, only the marines can attack you! If there's a cove, put plenty of subs and battleships in it (This cove is nearly surrounded by your fanatics, too.) and, if the transport has an escort, sneak up and ATTACK! It's also nice to have some inland airbases w/ fighters, so every turn you can have a fairly wide-range surch of the close waters and have the subs ready beforehand. As an alternative, have a protected carrier or a fleet of subs to randomly catch the enemies!

On the next post, I can't fix the diagram.

Here's a diagram. It's not isometric, sorry.
"F" is a fanatic
"A" is an airbase
"S" is a sub
"B" is a battleship
"C" is a city
Lines delineate coast.

What is that suppose to show?

pretty darned sneaky! none of us can understand it! why not take all those fanatics you made and go take over all the other civs? you cant win the war by defense! and you cant win space race under fundamentalism!

i believe you over looked battleships and other similar naval units which can bombard the coast. or a nuke! couple of those and you would have a whole the size of the iberian peninsula in your little wall! or bombers. or spies. i think they can bribe right off the ships. in other words, that "inpenetrable wall isnt too good of an idea.

HAAHAHAHAHHA! I UNDERSTAND TOTALLY! ITS 2D PICTRE OF A SIDE ON FACE ISN' T IT!

this is actually his way of confusing enemy dips and spys, they steal his technology, and spend the next 100 years trying to work it out

No, it's a picture. Don't look at it, because I'm not insured if you get seizures. Good idea with the confusion idea! Maybe I'll change around the tech tree in my scenarios and confuse users to death!

Hey, who CARES about science in Fundamentalism. They're called SPIES. USE THEM!

Answer me these questions three: How long was the 7 years war?

What Louis came after Louis the 3rd?

How many metric gallons in a furlong?

I'm usually so well off in economy and science, i set my science/economy to 50/50 in fundamentalism and get an advance every 4 turns, and earn 2100 per turn.

Spies can't steal tech that the enemy doesn't have.....

yea but for SPIES to work you must already be behind in tec!
Fundamentalism is good if your behind in tec because you can raise a huge army get many spies and take all the tec you need!
