It was a routine day for Tarskan and his ship, the Naktrym. They were patrolling the Anatolian coastline lazily, dozing off as the large "flameslinger" ship lumbered on. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the lookout yelled, "Pirates!" Just as suddenly, everyone was in motion.
Indeed, a small group of ships, ragged sails billowing in the easterly wind, were heading in the direction of the coast.
Tarskan and his fellow arrow-loader scurried to hoist up one of the huge bolts onto the crossbow structure. The lighter hurriedly applied the torch to the tip. Quickly, Tarskan pulled the firing lever.
FWAAOOOM! The arrow sped into the distance. The powerful crossbow gave the aimers little difficulty with projectile drop, and the arrow hit dead-on to one of the enemy ships. The ship burst into flame, and Tarskan could see small figures of men jumping overboard.
The ship sank in a matter of minutes
After the crossbow was finished being winded by 25 strong men, Another arrow was quickly loaded. Tarskan noticed another of the enemy ships had crashed into the wreckage of the one the arrow had sunk, setting itself aflame as well. He let the arrow fly.
This time it cut through one of the ship's sails, setting it blazing. This ship went down more slowly. 3 enemy ships destroyed in only a few minutes!
He and his mate loaded another arrow. The lighter set it on fire. And on fire, it was!
Apparently the fool who prepared this particular arrow doused its tip in too much oil. The flames quickly spread down the arrow, and onto the crossbow. The crossbow operaters yelped and leapt back.
As the whole ship began to burn, men began jumping overboard. Soon the captain himself was in the water, swimming for shore. Tarskan saw a man running around on fire, screaming like the devil was after him.
Tarskan quickly made up his mind. He heaved himself over the wooden rail into the relatively calm sea. As he watched the Naktrym go down, he realized he had a rather long swim to shore, and a sure punishment at the hands of his commander...
The flameslinger ship was indeed a little too ahead of its time.

However, we have now two threats which remain in our beloved world, Germany and Semeria. Medes and Ajaj, if you are willing to continue fighting against them, tell me. If not, we will understand; however sooner or later, they will be a threat to you if they survive. If you continue this war against Semeria and the United Druid Empire, (Medes and Ajaj) we will give you 1 economy each for any losses to your nations.
To Gaul, seems you have already been threatened by Semeria and United Druid Empire, it would only be an obligation to your people to fight on, we will be victorious! The Semerian 'Empire' trembles before us as we will take our full sweep to thier capitol. United Druid Empire has made the largest mistake of thier civilization's history, and we will be the one's known to end it (we will talk more on AIM).

We will cut every valuable part of your body and lay it in front of you until you die. Do not let this happen to you, surrender now and spare the lives of you, your family and your people.

Yet... his heart was filled not only with righteous anger at this barbaric desecration of his Fatherland, but also with fear. What people could turn fertile grasslands and peaceful villages into burned-out barren ground? Who can make themselves do that? Who can committ themselves to that task?
The Slavs. Hermann would've laughed. "Slaves" - that is how they were once known. Rebel slaves. Yet now, they threatened Berlin, they shook the world, their cavalry moved at speeds unimaginable. Germany... she was destroyed.
