ANOTHER patch you say? Well of course! Firaxis/2K aren't going to leave the password bug for multiplayer games in the final version are they??!?! Surely not!
I've had a smooth Civ4 experience so far, and this is the only bug thats affected me. I created the MULTI-multi player Civ4 game REALPOLITIK, and we may need to, down the track, expel players from Civs as they are spies for another Civ. You see, in RP, each Civ contains 8+ players, all in a structured system with voting determining the Civ's outcome.
If a player is caught spying (it's actually LEGAL in the game, you see), well we can ban that player from the foreign Civ's thread in the forums, but how can we stop that player from logging into the PTBS game... ever?
I can change my domain name where the users connect via Direct IP, but then I'd have to boot that player together!
C'mon Firaxis! My game is the biggest thing to hit Civ since Rise & Rule or Civ Game of Democracy... and my players agree it's got the potential to be bigger than everything! Don't let a stupid bug like this potentially ruin games where 32+ players have poured hours upon hours of discussion, planning & strategy into!
