All of this talk makes me wonder if a large part of our current political climate, both locally and globally, isn't just mankind adapting to the new reality of social media.

Just don't try using social media to vote for potential presidential candidates otherwise you'll end up with a rather..........interesting group of candidates..

Needless to say, a social media-based presidential primary would probably be hijacked by some group from 4-chan resulting in the top 5 picks being a group of memes, inanimate objects and bad actors.
