I think that there should be 3 social policy branches. Think of them like civics in Civ IV.
3 Branches, one for Democracy, Facism, Communism.
  • England gets Democracy
  • France gets Democracy
  • America gets Democracy
  • Greece gets Fascism
  • Italy gets Fascism
  • Germany gets Fascism
  • Japan gets Fascism
  • China gets Fascism

I was actually thinking (if Gedemon wanted to add social policies) -you could maybe start the branches that way- but there could be secondary objectives as simply as build X amount of radio towers, earn a certain amount of XP or kill a certain type of unit X amount of times which would give you a free policy of your choice. It would certainly make peace time a little more fun but I don't know if the AI could take it.

And the policies could increase production, material, personal maybe spawn a special forces unit (only available via social policy) or give a special promotion etc...

I don't plan to add policies.

But on a near subject, I don't remember if I've talked of my plans for selectable advisors... it could work as 4 secondary traits (related to air, sea, land, economy) to choose from multiple candidate.

Say you play Germany and chose Adolf Galland as commander-in-chief of the Luftwaffe and get promotions against bomber for new fighters, or select Ernst Udet and can complete projects faster...

Oh ya that would be cool, select your own cabinet :)

So, for example, Bernard Montgomery for brits? RAF Fighter command leader (dunno) boosts fighter strength/RAF Bomber command leader (dunno) boosts bomber strength (1 only).

China and Japan were not Facistic, Greece was kind of a Democratic/ Facist mix. And Nazism is quite different from Facism. Maybe "Dictatorship" would work better.

Nazism is Facism!

Nazism is Facism!

True, but Facism is not nessisaraly Nazism. Its like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. In other words, all Nazis are facists, but not all facists are nazis. In any case, lets get back to what Gedemon was saying. War cabinet and such sounds good.

I never that facist are nazis...

I really do not want this to turn in to a political disscustion, so back to the Gedemon's Idea. We could have different choices in generals, some good (Guderian, Zhukov) some bad (Goring).

Moderator Action: yes, no political discussion please.

So should we use this thread to discuss the advisors Gedemon was talking about, or should someone make a new thread for that?
