All these people talking about global warming say that the only solution to stop global warming is to curb emmisions of greenhouse gases.

Wrong.

We have today 40,000 nuclear weapons, yet all of them are wasted- Thats right you heard me, all of them wasted, not ever being used by the governments that have them. We don't have to give up our lifestyle. All we have to do is start a full scale nuclear war, preferrably against population centers. In effect all the soot and dust created from the nuke blasts will block out the sun and get this: COUNTERACT GLOBAL WARMING by nuclear winter. My plan is genious. There are no flaws in it whatsoever. Don't delay! Write your Congressman!

Yes, because I want myself, my family, and my friends to die painful deaths.

Painful deaths, yes

But think about it

You solve global warming!

I saw that in futurerama. And what do we do when nuclear summer comes afer nuclear winter.

2/10.

Why do you think this is spam? My plan is a viable solution to global warming. I bet you its the government who wishes to stop this solution being put into effect. Fight the power! Don't let the evil government supress my final solution to the global warming question!

1 - How can total nuclear war NOT affect our lifestyle? I rather living with cutting back on my emissions, of face of fury of business-as-usual global warming.

2 - The Earth's Atmosphere is complex thing, I am not sure that "nuclear winter" would cancel "global warming". Early models of nuclear winter turned out to be exaggerated. IIRC. Particulate matter does effect our planet, but scientists haven't quite pinned it down yet.

The OP's argument is no crazier than the Global Warming Cult's.

If your city got hit, it would be pretty quick death, don't worry.

Your city is more likely to get hit than mine. I mean really, had you ever heard of Vientiane before I posted from here?

You fail at humour! And humor too!

I'm not joking! What makes you think I am joking! Good god people, why isn't anyone taking me idea seriously? My plan IS Perfect. Why must you beleive that I would make a silly idea and joke around eh? Its preposterous I tell you

A more interesting plan might be to convert all those useless atomic weapons to nuclear fuel to power a new generation of breeder reactors. Let's go over to at least 20% nuclear power. That'll go a large ways towards balancing our CO2 emissions.

Nuclear annihilation of the human civilisation may not be the best solution (in fact, it isn't a solution). What we really need is new more efficient sources of energy. Nuclear power is one, but isn't perfect, so we need to put more research into new energy options. And we must stop cutting the forests down.

Please don't lock this thread. It could start some meaningful discussion on global warming.

The radiation might spur mutation and evolutionary change, thus we can refill the void of extinctions we've already created.
