It does have more viewers in the sense that republicans are united in terms of media. Liberals are split between four major channels. Which makes Fox News the minority.

Actually, I read somewhere that foxnews rating share on some shows is larger than the other four major channels combined. So, in some time slots foxnews does indeed enjoy a majority of viewership share.
Except that (besides MSNBC), just because the other 3 channels don't go around screaming solshulism at everything Obama does, doesn't mean their liberal. While Fox on the other hand; all it does is pander the right, making it seem as its the only conservative channel (while all the rest are liberal). When in fact, it's really the only channel that paints itself as a news source when in reality it's just a propaganda factory.
I don't think Fox outdraws any of the 3 major networks, much less combined.

He is partly right. Fox News has more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined, it is also the highest rated and has fastest growth rate.

But what I meant by mainstream is that Fox News is the only Conservative News Station. Besides Fox, the liberals have a monopoly in the media business.
A contradiction in terms if ever I've heard one.
So conservatism is out of the mainstream? The free market has decided that there is room for only one conservative voice on the airwaves, relegated to cable at that?
