As the title says.

I am making a mod, and there over 40 units I downloaded, but about seven or so of them are not 256, and one of them has a darker pink background.
I used Photoshop CS6 and everytime I put all the unit32s in the unit_32.pcx file and want to convert it to Indexed colors. I follow what this user told me on this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/archiv.../t-467396.html

Basically, I cannot get the "Exact" pallet setting because not all of the unit32 images are 248/256 colors. I know which ones they are, I am just wondering how I can convert them to 256 colors so they work so I can change the unit_32.pcx properly to Indexed color.

SpetsnazRussian... You can place all of the Units on the units_32.pcx file set with 16 million colors then make the palette or you can simply use the Original units_32.pcx file with its original Palette.

It does not matter how many colors each Unit has if all are on the same file with a correct 256 color palette. If you copy and paste your units onto the Original units_32.pcx file, the units will pick up the nearest color matching them automatically. This does have problems concerning the Civ Specific Colors that they will pick up in the wrong places but they will work. There is a way to correct images before you copy and paste them onto the units_32.pcx file... see my tutorial, linked below.

The units_32.pcx file uses "Civ Specific Colors" that are applied to each Unit that change according to what Civ uses them. You will need to keep those colors on your palette if you want Civ Specific colors and if you do not want those colors you still need to Blank out those Color Slots with a solid color that is Not used in any of the images.

It is easier to simply use the original units_32.pcx file to copy and paste your units onto that already has the palette loaded but first correct the images before pasting them on the file.

See this tutorial concerning the units_32.pcx file: Here Post #20 at the Bottom of the Page, "CIV Specific units 32 pcx files zip".
You can also see 96 examples in the zip file Here on page 2, Post #24, "Corrected units 32pcx files zip".

If you want to Zip and upload the units_32 images you are having trouble with, I will take a look at them for you. I recommend you use the Original units_32.pcx Palette.
