Sons of Mars IV

Say Tani... is it possible for tanks to land, then to attack the nearby province after the landing province in the same turn? I am currently constructing my claim map of what I will do if I am in peace, since the war in Europe is blurred in how it is going to be formed, especially regarding whether Arstotzka continues to exist or not depending on its activity level.

I don't see why not, provided they land in friendly territory. Otherwise they have to use up their attack move to form a beachhead.

Err... you mean I cannot attack a province via a landing, then go to invade a province bordering said conquered with my tanks/mechs in a single turn? :(

That would be doable. Tanks have 2 movement and only 1 attack. If the landing zone is clear they may continue onward and attack elsewhere.

For now I will purpose my claimants if Japan is to remain in peace; this will depend on the response of Arstotzka, whether it activates its call to arms to us or not. For now we will purpose what be in wisdom of no war.

As well as securing our Chinese and Korean positions we also will secure our holdings in Peru and claim a part of Somalia to provide logistical connection to Arstotzka for trade and other services, as well as a secured link to the Citidels and France for trade.

OOC: For the record we are attacking precisely BECAUSE they are inactive.

Japan is getting concerned with the lack of response from its supposed ally. What is the worth making a defence pact if we are not getting even a tactical suggestion?!

Due to the lack of communication we will presume Arstotzka is in anarchy and internal breakdown. We cannot come to defend the ones that do not tell us how best to defend them, so we will at the mean time keep to the peaceful operations.

Could we humbly ask Japan to limit their African ambition to the one province in Somalia they just claimed? It would certainly harm relations if you expanded into our claims...

Although we had originally hoped to establish some imperial holding in Africa we are willing to focus our attention in securing the Red Sea; Japan will honour your desire for now in return that you agree to support our claims on Korea and China, both rightfully belong to Japan and not the barbarians who savagely steal what belong to the Imperial Democratic Empire.

In other news we will tolerate the existence of Mongolia for the time being to allow a opportunity to expand our empire overseas... as in rather from the Far Eastern realm which we operate.

Talking down to someone with a bigger and better army, navy, and air force isn't particularly wise of you.

At any rate, Mongola would like to offer a deal to Japan to deal with our border issues.

Mongola will cede its Korean territory and pull its troops out of the joint occupation zone in return for Japan pulling out of the joint occupation zone on the mainland and ceding one of its Chinese provinces to us. We'll also offer $8bn for the remaining Chinese province, just enough for you to acquire a province elswhere, along with a promise for both parties to stay out of each other's regions of expansion (mine being China and yours being Korea).

If nothing else Africa, the Middle East and South America are open fields. :p

Due to the recent addition of this Central american power, I have extremely little area to logically expand to other than Northward, I request your blessing to expand further North into the former United States territories so I may continue my nations expansion.

You may expand only in the following states: Nebraska, Colorado, and Iowa.

Hello and greetings from the New England Republic. Since we've acquired some long haul aircraft, we've been considering opening transpacific routes originating from Seattle (Seattle-Tacoma International) and Los Angeles (Los Angeles International), as well as a possible route from Honolulu to Tokyo and Osaka. This proposition would be beneficial to both our nations as it opens further trade via air between us with transportation of tourist and goods. In the future, should Japan grow and expand, we may consider making Tokyo a hub for destinations within the Tokyo Empire.

Japan asks "why did you not strive debate on border issues before?"

While the whole of Korea should be Japan had desired a grand presence in Offshore Japan China. China is larger than Korea, hence our original plan was to split China between us. We could have even have arrange in a debate to consider. Korea is to us as Siberia is to you; a naturally way of claimant. China is different; Japan could have debated with you in such a way to gain south-east to mid-east China. While we had disagreements to our offer of influences we could have debated. Instead in a state of immaturity of barbarity your nation took many of the Chinese coasts for the sole purpose of denying us. That is why we look down on you.

If you wish to be recognised as diplomatically mature then we suggest you heeded a cake cutting like this:

A purposed China.png

We marked Beijing to be a international zone for merchants and academics.

If you wish to earn our respect then learn the Art of Diplomacy by constructing policies like the split up like we purpose instead of grabbing all. Korea is a "bit" smaller than China in both size and number of provinces, hence making it the bargaining unit is rather unworthy. The Imperial Democratic Empire will continue its holding of Hainan; we suggest you drive for Siberia and the parts of China we suggest, then we can have our parts of China and then we can start considering you civilized.

Japan drives for prosperity; your past actions may be forgiven if you return to us what rightfully belongs to us (our Chinese provinces and the Korean lands you took) in notion of glory.

In the mean time we hope to re-establish trust that Japan is a stable land to do merchant operations in; even if war did occur we will be able to protect Japan.

Finally; we continue to declare glory to our alliance with both New England and Australia, as well as purpose a defence pact to Mfecane.

To Johnson Otis, CEO of Eastern Airlines.

Japan's air corporations will consider well and hence conduct the purposed operations as agreed by counsel. As CEO of one of Japan's largest airline companies by method of our airline branch, Kido Incorporated Skylines, I had sought council with CEO Natsuko Nakano of Sakae Kyouyo, President of the Committee of Japanese Corporations. In the end there was a meeting within the Committee of Japanese Corporations and we agreed that all our corporations will do consul with your airline purposed dream. We hope both our nations' corporations will benefit from this airline operation, allowing New English business in Japan and Japanese business in New England to go ever the more smoother. We can also set this to include our colonial provinces; we will suggest when we take Seoul that you include that in your airline policies, while Shanghai is also considered. Haikou in Hainan would also benefit from being in such airline network. In the end we can increase the glories of Japan and New England. Both Kido Incorporated and Sakae Kyouyo will benefit especially from this!

For the Empress Shinobu who I write this dealing for!

Wakako Kido, CEO of Kido Incorporated.

We don't care about earning your respect. Japan failed in its claim to China.

We offer you your Korean lands since you will not be able to claim much more Chinese territory, and make the borders prettier. Your Chinese provinces currently have no strategic value and our offer of $8bn would offset the loss you would suffer through our deal.

You are being obstinate for the sake of increasing tensions.

We did not make failure; you exploited our gentle efforts and took a route of expansion for the solo purpose of hindering us.

You stole from us! Korea is ours, the Chinese claimants is ours and your bribes only attempt to divert from the diplomatic truth. Our greatest failure was expecting you to be diplomatic but your savage nation is proving itself in need of regime change. We are patient but your teaching us wroth with your constant efforts to undermine our operations in China. Also Hainan and Shanghai have grand strategic conisations, especially for future efforts.

It is the one who steals that increases tensions. Your imaginary allies do not threaten us, while our real allies threaten you. The Imperial Democratic Empire of Japan will suggest you follow our suggestion if you value your economic growth. Failure to comply may make it difficult for your merchant ships to use Japanese waters... we might consider special fines to said merchant ships. Just a friendly warning...

You can't steal what doesn't belong to you. Land does not belong to anyone until it is taken.

Japan does not own the waters with which we use to conduct trade.

It was clear it was to be ours; we were expanding in the coast as planned.

We own the Japanese trade waters which all your current ports are linked to, unless your using the unreliable artic sea routes which would be more costly than paying the tax. The shore of Taiwan for instance is officially classed as Japanese waters, as be the waters of Hong Kong and Korea.

Those are international waters. Your shores and a certain distance off of them are yours of course, but you don't own the oceans...

We speak of the water nearing Japanese territory, as well as waters that go from one land to another such as the waters between Shanghai and Japan.

Mongolia claims our space to be in China; we will claim the waves.
