"The pieces of the bodies of the infidels were flying like dust particles. If you had seen it with your own eyes, your heart would have been filled with joy."

-- Osama bin Laden
in videotape at son's wedding; regarding attack on U.S.S. Cole inYemen

New York - September 11, 2001

we calculated in advance the number of casualties from the enemy, who would be killed based on the position of the tower. We calculated that the floors that would be hit would be three or four floors. I was the most optimistic of them all. (...Inaudible...) due to my experience in this field, I was thinking that the fire from the gas in the plane would melt the iron structure of the building and collapse the area where the plane hit and all the floors above it only. This is all that we had hoped for. - Osama bin Laden, November 2001

Among many, many others...

These attacks were committed by Al-Qaeda, bin Laden's organization.

His quotes, which clearly direct the followers of Al-Qaeda, since he is their leader:

"It is the duty of Muslims to prepare as much force as possible to terrorize the enemies of God."

-- Osama Bin Laden
1998, in statement titled: "The Nuclear Bomb of Islam"

"In today's wars, there are no morals. We believe the worst thieves in the world today and the worst terrorists are the Americans. We do not have to differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned, they are all targets."

-- Osama bin Laden
to ABC News 1998.

"Terrorism can be commendable, and it can be reprehensible. The terrorism we practice is of the commendable kind for it is directed at the tyrants and the aggressors and the enemies of Allah."

Osama bin Laden
to journalist John Miller, 1998

"Being killed for Allan's cause is a great honor achieved by only those who are the elite of the nation. We love this kind of death for Allah's cause as much as you like to live. We have nothing to fear for. It is something we wish for."

-- Osama bin Laden
in CNN interview, 1997

Osama bin Laden
to journalist John Miller, 1998 I believe the poster meant what has bin Laden done directly. He influenced those, but he just sat in comfort when they were carried out.

Azadre, you and I both know he did much, much more than just influenced those attacks. He recruited, trained, inspired, financed, and, in his own words, helped to plan the attacks.

Bin Laden does not deny his participation in any of these terrorist attacks. Quite the contrary, he embraces his leadership of an organization that has declared "holy war" upon the world. His leadership directs the murders of thousands of innocent people.

This simply cannot be denied, because bin Laden accepts the "responsibility".

Indeed, I don't think there is a real disagreement between the two of you, Az & DB. The general is responsible for the actions of his soldiers in carrying out his orders.

I can't interpret this.

your loss, not mine

Show me where Bin Laden has committed violence.

others have answered this in my stead, and I thank them; your are grasping at myths, if you belive what you sayyou attempt to hunt down, and critiszice an "enemy" that is id eserving of niether the hunt, nor your critiscism, for reasons which are both unkown to me, and that I dont care to learn of.

Laden is resposnible for tyhe deaths of thousands; bush has sanctioned naitonal conflict becaus eo fthose actions,a nd either is all the better then the other- and here, we have people standign up for thie rbelifes peacefully and all you can do is say the defacto message that they ar eno better then a group of killers, who feel killing is the only method of getting thier agenda across? while I wish no particuler quarrel with you, nor any at all, even you must admit that your corralation ha slittl emerit, and seems only fit as a shot meant to deal all of thier religion a moral blow.(which mind you, I am no sympathizer to, though I do not campaign agianst them- I have no real reason other then neutrality given thier religion as a whole)

Bin laden is just an escape goat; the 9/11 attacks were prearranged by the U.S/Israel intelligence service. They may not have direct involvement in the 9/11 attacks, but they did guide the whole event...i believe the whole truth shall come out one day about 9/11, and then you will fully realize that you mean nothing to governments and multinational companies.

Imagine the terrorists evacuating Tora Bora:

"Quickly! To the escape goats!"

English isn't your first language, is it? :p

English is a relatively easy language to learn, compared to Swahili or Somali...I would like to see you learn a second language. :p

LOL, I almost died laughing when I saw the "escape goat" thing. Sorry HamaticBabylon, but it was just too funny. It's okay, I've said stupid stuff in other langauges before. Once in Hindi, I said "I am an English cow" when I meant to say "I went to England". Still, yours was quite funny.

BTW, I know a second language, a third language, and am working on a fourth!

About the Spanish Muslims, good deal says I!!

And if you really believe that, I have a tinfoil hat to sell you. :p

Somali has only had a written alphabet since 1972, and Swahili, I don't know if they've ever had one. You kind of have to be from there to know it.

I also found an English-Bemba dictionary recently (it's on the top shelf of the Northtown Half Price Books clearance area to all MNers out there) -- but I didn't buy it though.

Considering Osama is acting just as Mohhamed acted, (WWMD? ;)) I don't understand why the Spanish Muslims are condeming him. Do they only believe parts of the Quran?
