Tbh, I think Japan is looking even better. You only need to heal after the war is over, and taking Japanese cities is going to be a very painful affair.
Hmm... Doesn't this overpower Russians over Arabian. Production bonus is more or less equal with their commerce bonus, but having 3 double resources compared to 1...
Horses and iron have no use in modern era, so the arabas will get more tanks, subs, destroyers, fighters etc. Russia will only have more nukes and GDR's. (although both of those are still good.)
To put it as bluntly as possible, those abilities are crazy good compared to any other we've seen.
The Japanese one is so good that there would be so little reason to play any other warring civilization that it's crazy.
Well it isn't that good. You just need to fight defensive against Japan, that means fortify a certain position an bombard the Japanese with artillery and aircraft. Also this UA is pretty useless during peace time unlike most other abilities.
Russia might be capable of building more canons, artillery and tanks as well, since we don't know which units require iron and which don't.
No, not really, they still lose HP, just fight as if they have 10 at all times. Bombardment is sueful as it lowers their HP, so when you fight them one-on-one, you sitll kill them. Industrial onwards would be coal, Modern units will be oil, Uranium only powers nukes, nuclear powerplants I would guess and GDR's.

Actually I think it'll be the opposite. The Iroquois ability will let them chop forests much faster than any other race, giving them a strong production bonus right at the start of the game. It'll be like having India's fast workers from Civ 4.Do we know if chopping forests for a one off hammer boost is in CivV?
If not, then the Iroquois Great Warpath Special Ability might be better then first thought (longer lasting).
Egyptian and German powers do honestly seem like nothing, in comparison.
If Germany get's lucky early on against barbarians, they could easily attack their nearest neighbor with a huge horde of barbarians very early on. It'll be like the famous "vedic aryan uprising" event of Civ 4, but in reverse. Or the mind worm capture from Alpha centauri.
