Most of the time when I sent out a trader from a city in the wilderness, he builds a road one tile at a time, as he moves towards his destination. But every now & again, the entire length of road springs into being immediately. I can't find any rhyme or reason as to when this happens. Sometimes it happens to internal trade routes, sometimes to external ones. For no reason that I can see.
Is this a bug? Or is there a know factor that causes this?
