spies, continued

5 turns, more or less, looked like a good time to strike from my set: time to bring the ironclad closer and carry all the troops to the middle island for faster re-shipping

O.k. - I've played only few turns, because I observed that Gandhi suddenly change his research and it is now only 1-turn away from Chemistry => he should be attacked ASAP !!!

Most of the troops was moved in the "middle island".
Railroad, Corporation are in - Assembly Line is 3 turns away.
Update some costal units in order to be defended for a suprise Gandhi sea-counterstrike.

Unfortunately lost a spy and 2 privateers ... :(

Good luck for the next player during the war against Gandhi !!

Mitiu Ioan - set up wenz
Wenz - up for whackage on Gandhi
TriviAl - RL blues, on deck?
AK - babbling as usual
Beorn - IM ing

preturn:
- cancel trades with gandhi to see how it looks like
- renegotiate ressource deals with shaka, huayna
- leave most city builds as they are, although we are producing almost zero new troops, this will change :D

early:
- FIRST start a revolt in Bombay, THEN declare war, otherwise our spy would have been kicked out without inofficial patch, capture Bombay with naval assault (no losses)
- start national park in berlin, change lumbermills to forest preserves
- trade physics from lizzy for div. right+steel (she was researching it anyways), we have 2 sources of uranium
- researched assembly line, onto mil. trad (better ships, blitz, acadamy)
- sacrifice a cannon and capture Calcutta with naval assault

medium:
- spy is caught trying to revolt delhi, bombard it the old way with cannons
- indian frigates enter our waters
- frankfurt is our shipping harbor for troops, other cities build things according to their specialisation
- upgading rifles to infantry on indian continent
- start pentagon in athens (ironworks city), due in 10 turns
- capture delhi (2 shrines for 70 gpt, wall street anyone?) and city north of it
-> whole north-west india is now liberated
- mil.tradition comes in, quick detour to fascism for GG and fighting WW
- start mt. rushmore in essen

late:
- vija revolts :mischief: and is captured
- paliputra, new indian capital, builds eifel tower, thanks dude
- huayna declares on gandhi and captures a city on the east coast :dubious:
- GG from fascism constructs mil.acadamy in cretinburg
- great prophet is born in GIF, I save him for a golden age in Berlin

summary:
- played 9 action turns to bring us to an even number
- cretinburg trains infantry non-stop, argos (stables) same with cavalry, some cities without barracks build airships/train spies
- suggest frankfurt as globe theatre city, has only few tiles to work, and enough food to regrow steady drafting
- replaced some mature cottages with workshops, as I think we are going towards domination :king:
- chain irrigation from essen->bremen->munich->sparta, do not disconnect
- leonidas is in the stack heading towards paliputra, use at Your own liking
- next turn would be good time to renegotiate ressource deals

Greetigs from India:

:worship: That is some really nice rampage there.

Just wondering: do draftees get experience in CIV?

thanks Beorn

draftees get half the experience normal units would get in that city, rounded down

Mitiu Ioan - set up wenz
Wenz - whackaged on Gandhi
TriviAl - RL blues, skipped
AK - babbling as usual, got it
Beorn - on deck, making fun of his elders.

Kinda peaceful for a war set. Went a little long to tidy up at the end.

1812: Combustion in, start medicine. Leonidas become a medic 3 cannon.

1814: spy revolts Patel and gets caught. Patel falls.

1818: Agra and Hyperabad bite the dust.

1820: Huanya burns Kolhipar. Medicine done, start flight.

1822: Madras falls.

1826: Madurai falls. Sell fascism to Huayna for 310 and nationalism to Shaka for 145. They were going to self research those next turn, so I figured we'd get a little cash out of it.

Peace with Gandhi who is doing OCC on a one tile island. Somewhere in there, got electricity and started industrialism.

Who's next Huayna or Shaka?

Is Shaka still at war with the English? If so, he might be the easier target.
The Indian army can attack him in the east, while new reinforcements can reach his lands pretty good from Cretinberg, crossing the int. dateline.
Bad thing is this way the game doesn´t close with a cold spy war aggainst an equal opponent :( .

Shaka is still at war with the English. IIRC, he took at least one city during my set. huayna may be more difficult; he's our only remote competition in the tech department.

Mitiu Ioan - on deck
Wenz - whackaged on Gandhi
TriviAl - RL blues, skipped
AK - just played.
Beorn - up

Will take a look and be right back on it.

I have absolutely no idea what to do. That about sums up my view of this all, and don't take it negatively: I'm just ignorant.

finish the production builds and the health builds. then start spamming military for a 2 front war on shaka. the Indian army goes east. build some boats in cretinburg and send them west. you can start building tanks and marines soon as well as battleships. In other words, set up for war, build wonders where appropriate

Sounds good. On it.

I guess I need a long, detailed tutorial about how to play civ4. I have never been railed through a game so I'm just exploring aimlessly without even the ability to pull a sound axemen rush on an AI. Anyone got a SG or strat guide to link me to?
