Which is a very good reason for not announcing intended patch release dates. I expect they now regret the inadvertent initial release of the video, which induced them to subsequently re-releasing it and putting everyone on alert.
It is an educated guess based on the fact that apparently the patch that was sent to QA for final testing was rolled back to a previous version from 3 weeks ago.
I would love it if the AI did not give away the farm when suing for peace after not fighting at all. Too many times, the AI will declare war on me, neither of us do anything for 10 turns, and then the AI sues for peace and offers me gold per turn. It's free gold for me. That's silly. Firaxis needs to program the AI to always offer "nothing" (ie just peace for peace) on the first peace offer and let the player negotiate for more if they want to. That's just basic negotiations 101: always offer as little as possible at first.
That makes sense. It's possible that QA found a major flaw in the religion-loyalty mechanic and sent it back to the devs and it is taking them longer than expected to figure out how to fix the issue.
Yesterday they rolled back the QA build by 3 weeks, presumably due to problems that cropped up during that time. Releasing anything now would be a disaster. Be patient for the finished product.
While I'm keen to get the patch too; that is has been delayed fills me with confidence that they have taken seriously the criticism that resulted from the Nubia patch, which added more problems than it removed. Long may they do it once, do it right; even if that leaves them with some short term egg on face
