Is the patch live?
They do it right way, announcing the patch a day before release, so people who dislike it could disable update. Is the patch live?
A loyalty buff promotion to Victor would make him useful.This. Victor is still basically useless.
I couldn't agree more. There are a lot of Civs which I think are almost right, but just need a really small buff or tweak.
Top of my list are the Cree - give them a starting Warrior and their starting unique Scout. They are an exploring Civ that has a Scout which costs more, so currently they actually get their Scout out slower that other Civs. Nuts. Sure, you could make their Scout cheaper: but giving them a free Scout would be more unique and flavourful, and still not overpowered (at least at higher levels), because at the end of the day its still just a Scout.
After them, Spain.
Number of envoys received from Liberating City-States is boosted as you progress through the game.
Happy birthday then!
I don't understand people saying chopping should be worth nothing? Chopping has been in Civ forever and now we can finally chop jungles too, which make me very pleased!
If chopping trees would give you nothing, but waste a turn for a worker, then why stop there? You can use Magnus for getting extra food and shields from other tiles as well. So no more harvesting animals and stones, copper etc? Then Magnus would be pretty useless, unless you want to build a settler.
I think that kind of discussion is just plain silly, as the feature has been in the game a very long time. Magnus is nerfed, good enough! To start over the overall game mechanics that has been sitting there for years and years, won't make the game more fun.
AI Air Force == nothing...![]()
Nothing regarding the lack of interest for the AI to build and use planesIf that is the case (could still be an unmentioned tweak), the endgame is still more or less pointless.
Noticeable by their absence (not that I specifically expected them for this patch):
- Air Force
- "Cede"
- Free City constant state of war
I have more of an issue with the timing, you can completely deforest the world before you can even build a lumber mill. Seems kindda odd, but I really don't know how efficient ppl were at chopping down forests in ancient times. It seems to me it wouldn't really become a thing until the Industrial Revolution.
Oh, the Romans chopped the entire Mediterranean for their ships and other stuff. Have you ever been to Italy?
If you got stuff left to chop by the time you get capitalism, you ain't doing it right.![]()
Well, I appreciate the changes and updates but the persistant ignorance of the flaws in an essential lategame feature like air combat really does sadden me

Biggest disappointment: No change concerning the mass destruction of city states by the AI in the first 50 rounds of a game.
I really would like to play WITH city states again.
Also check out the book Collapse by Jared Diamond to read about specific cases of deforestation, he mostly goes into the Mayans and Easter island.
