Spring Patch notes

Berserkers look kinda good now. I always thought Norway was kinda weak but I think Ill revisit them again.
Between costing 20 production less, better comba modifiers, and the commando buff (+1 movement) they aren't bad units now in a vacuum. However they still suffer from the fact that you need to research military tactics and you can't hard build them. Military tactics doesn't lead to any other techs, and onyl gives access to certain military units and Huey. 275 science is a steep price to pay. I think they should look into reworking the tech tree a bit in this regard.

That being said, its still a fun and flavorful unit and I will use them en masse when playing Norway, even if it's not the most efficient route to victory.
 
Game done, had it open when the patch hit, so no issues, whew!

I'll let the kids have the computer for a while and test out the patch later.
 
  • [*]Norwegian Berserker - Production cost reduced from 180 to 160. Combat Strength buff when attacking increased from +7 to +10. Combat Strength de-buff when defending reduced from -7 to -5.
    [*]Japanese Samurai – Production cost reduced from 180 to 160. Combat Strength increased from 45 to 48.
    [*]Georgian Khevsur – Production cost reduced from 180 to 160. Combat Strength increased from 40 to 45.
What about the Crouching Tiger?
 
It seems that they took Berserker buff back, or its wrong in civilopedia. Based on civilopedia they just lowered the cost, but did not change attack or defence values.

damn I was excited to play with them too. Hopefully they just messed up the entry and the buff still exists.
 
Great timing with the patch. I'll finally have time to play this weekend, after some crazy working hours for what feels like an eternity.

Best way to test: load an appropriate era start as Norway vs. Norway?

Edit: Berskerers changed to +10 on attack/-5 on defense confirmed. Took a while for one of the other Norways to build one I could use to confirm. In hindsight, it would have been faster to simply load up a hotseat game.

I can't take the update for fear it will break CQUI, but can anyone verify if they really didn't fix Nationalism yet? (I am still on Vanilla for the same reason, is it only broken there or in R&F as well?)

I can't believe they would let such an obvious bug go unfixed. Really pathetic if they did.
 
You mean the corpse bug some people have mentioned? I could create corps without issue but I do have R&F and never had an issue before.

If it's Vanilla only they probably intentionally left it broken or just don't care. Some day CQUI will support R&F and I will upgrade.
 
Nationalism is fixed for vanilla too
 
Well, that Mod has been enabled via the patch for me and it seemed to work. I don't like it though :)
 
Man, there are 4 city states left in my king game on Turn 264 on normal speed, on a large map with 10 civs and 15 city states. What a bloodbath! They attack city states even more now. Walls or no walls.

One game can differ a lot from another. My current game (normal king) have all but two CS left (turn 220 or something).

Fun little thing in my game. Brazil attacked Hattusa early. That war end up with Hattusa besieging Rio (the war ended there of course). I should say that I don't know if it is two CS that have died since I haven't met everyone yet.
