the lands of Genoa are lands of the italliot peoples, and as such, we cannot let you settle there- we, the nation of the 13 cities, Etruria (yes, that is the correct spelling) the new nation of italia, and the protectors of it from forign powers therefore WILL NOT let you settle those lands unapposed.

we wish to preserve peace- but we will not let you take the lands of our people for it.

Is that IC or OOC? If its diplo, please direct it to someone. :P

To Etruria
From Mediterranea:

The people of Genoa ARE NOT under your jurisdiction, as they are not within Etruria claimed regions (ROM, if I recall). Mediterranea has just as strong a claim to the region as does Etruia, but we reached Genoa first.

Manchuria

Reports of the possible Mongolian raids on Manchurian border towns were beginning to come back to the Yellow Sea coastline of Manchuria, where most of the population of Manchuria was located, as well as the government. The reports of these attacks encouraged many men in the coastal villages to join the army. After all, the army offered excitement and adventure to the men; fishing every day for year upon year just doesn't provide the same excitement in one's life. Thus, the army grew, and the Manchurians were more able to defend themselves from the Mongolian threat. Also, the training of the army was to be increase, which would hopefully limit potential casualties in any war against the Mongols. These army improvements would cause a small dip in the economy for a while, certainly. But the despot reasoned, "what good is there in having a good ecnonmy if you can't defend it?" Meanwhile, the existence of another nearby tribe, the Chinese, had also been confirmed. The despot decided to extend friendship to this tribe. Perhaps they would be of help in the fight against the Mongol threat...

Manchuria - Orders:
Increase Army Size (costs 1 econ.)
Increase Army Training (costs 1 econ.)
Expand into JEH with part of the army, while garrisoning the Mongolian border with the other part.

Diplomacy:
From: Manchuria
To: China

Yes, a NAP would be very good. I hope we can forge a long lasting relationship between our two peoples. [secret]Perhaps you would also be interested in signing an alliance against the barbaric Mongolians from the north? They are a large threat to both of our nations...[/secret]

The People in the region of genoa are italliots. and it is by that same bllod line that all Italliots are to be protected by Eturia- the new nation of Italy

(that said, my claim is in LOM as well- that area- including where Genoa is, was many times at least under Nominal Etruscan control/infuence in real life history)

here is a real life Map of the Etruscan league of Cities- as you can see, I, as claiming Etruria, also lay claim to all of real life Etruia, and the regions that compirse all Italy as well

Etruscan_territory_2.jpg

that said, this map is somwhat falwed- it leaves out several major Etruscan centers (though, those centers do happen to be coverd by the name "Etruscan legue", and calls Tribes such as the Oscans "Illyrians", when they are very much a fulyl Itallic people)- if you would like, i can try to find a better map to clarify

To Etruria
From Mediterranea:

Your map explicitly places the region of Genoa under control of the Ligurians, not the Etruscans. Thus, Etruria has no valid claim to Genoa. The Ligurians, in fact, are closer related to the peoples of southern Gaul (the Mediterraneans) than to the Etrurians. Mediterranea considers this valid evidence to claim the western regions of Lombardy, including the entire western Lombard coast.

From: Etruria

consider your claim invalidated. The Guals didnt even come into being as a people until until the 5th century BC, and even then from central europe- as no persobn has claimed them, and they are not presetn as barbairans on the map, they do not exist, and are ths Italliots proper anyway.

you have NO claim on the region, and if you proceed to claim it, it will only lead to war.

From Mediterranea:

While Mediterranea maintains its claim to the region, we will not settle as of yet.

OOC: And where, exactly, was Etruria in 3800 BC? Anatolia!

To:Mediterranea
From:Etruia

since Etruia has a firm and established grip on the area in question, and seeing your diplomacy, in the Future, depending on what Carthage wishes for at least mainland italy, we wish to Open trade- as we said before, we want to have peaceful relations- but we also want to, as the native itallic power, be the ones in charge of all our homeland- is that to much to ask? we think not, and so, since our issue is now over, we wish to extend good greetings, and in the fututre, open trade, as soon as it is economically viable to do so
