Carthage
As our armies landed on Sicily we continued to encounter more and more Latins. They surrounded us, asking what we have come here to do. We told them for trade.
"We are traders from the city of Carthage," said the general, "we only seek peace with you people, and a safe haven so we can sell our goods."
The language barrier made it tough to communicate with these people, thier Latin language was much different from the Phoenician language we spoke back home. Days later one of our troops learned, and translated discussions with the locals. They agreed to give us one settlement on the shore, for trade and trade only.
We built on the village and it continued to grow into a town. More and more colonists from Carthage sailed to the Sicilian colony, and overcrowded the populace. Little by little the small trading village stretched its boundries, homes were built farther and farther, until eventually more villages were assembled.
This angered the Romans. Thier "govornator" decided to meet with our main explorer/general and settle terms on the lands of Sicily. They only binded for terms that would move many of the colonists which situated thier homes far away from the first colony that was build years ago. Meeting and meeting and yet not one agreement was settled.
Angered by the stalemate, the Romans temporarily agreed to splitting the Sicilian island into two halves, one for Carthage and one for Roman. All ties after this was closed.
"If one person of Carthaginigan decent passes the border, Rome will be at war"
Tensions grew and grew after this, a war was bound to come sooner or later...
