stAMNES: Never Ending Story

The Kyotan navy had set up a blockade between the islands! This was harming the infrastructure and economy of the nation, and NEEDED to be stopped. Immediately. Once again, the Hokkaidan council came together at Sapporo to discuss battle tactics.

"We cannot attack their blockade!" said one elder. "Our navy may be as well-trained as theirs, but it is smaller!"

Another elder injected, "Elder Miyamoto-sama, you're a wise man and a good tactician, but you forget that our navy is more advanced than their barbaric little dingies!"

On and on they went, arguing until the sun rose on the meeting hut. And then the youngest of council stepped forward and said, "We must expand our navy, though it will harm our economy. And to fix our economy, we shall begin work on a great wonder to increase commerce between our islands!"

"That," started the eldest of the council. "Is a decent idea. But why must we try to take that island, anyway?"

"Because, Yui-sama, it is our destiny to reign over it!"

No one argued.

Orders:

Continue the three-pronged attack on the Kyotans. Force them to constantly shift their attention to different prongs. Keep them guessing. Never use the same tactics twice. But they shall continue along the routes they were taking previously.

Meanwhile, increase the navy [thus decreasing the economy down to Recession, unfortunately] and split it into two Squadrons as according to the map provided. The brown squares are each a Naval Squadron. The western squadron will follow the orange line and assault the Kyotan blockade. When they throw their whole weight of attention on this attack, the second squadron will swoop down from behind [following the yellow line] and attack from behind.

Also, begin work on the Temple of Sapporo [+2 economy], which will draw many religious Hokkaidans to the city, hopefully increasing economic worth even if the blockade is not destroyed.

To Entrucia:
We hold nothing "Italian", whatever we hold is ours, and ours to keep.

ooc: Cuivienen, we are not playing by real history. :) Jalapeno dude, I posted stats for almost all of them except Florida, which is reserved for someone. Can you tell me who am I missing? Xen, you did not copy/paste the template on the first post, there is a ":" between each word, not a dash, forget it, I will do it for you. ;)

@Everyone, stories to come tommorrow, if any. Update may be tommorrow or the next day depending on when I have orders.

From Mediterranea:

We will open trade and, for now, end all claims on northern Italy. Would you like to buy some of our fine wines? (OOC @ Amirsan: Change in my orders should be obvious.)

sure- though since trade wa snot mentione dinthe rules, is it merelly for story purposes, or dose it cost econ, and over time produce it?

@Amerisan- unless the carthingians are complete idiots, they have to recgnize geographic features the size of the Itallian peninsula. and therefore be willign to at least discuss in at least a manner of recognition. assuming they are not idiots that is, and if they are, well, in that case it will be blisfully easy to simple conqure it from them.

look at your own map. the southern HALF of italy is the same brown carthage is.

Manchuria

The Despot had drastically underestimated the agressiveness and strength of the Mongol threat. He had only allocated half of the army to the border, while the other half continued to expand the nation's power elsewhere. But such expansion would half to stop for now to secure the existence of the Manchurian nation. All military forces must now be allocated to the war against the Mongolian threat. The despot decided that action must be taken now. The army would have to be further grown, and hopefully the Manchurian's superior training and civilized ways would be able to beat back the less trained but more numerous and more warlike Mongolian Hordes. It had to work - if something was not done soon to stop the invading forces, the Manchurian people would surely start to lose faith in the government. But if the army can push them back, then the people will rally around the goverment for ages to come...

Manchuria - Orders:
- Increase Army Size
- All army forces are to be sent to fight the Mongolian invaders. Knowing the aggression of these invaders, a head on attack may be too risky. Thus, the Manchurian soldiers should try to go around and encircle the invaders and cut them off inside our territory. Now unable to be resupplied and encircled, the invaders should be more easily defeated. Then, our counter-attack into Mongolia can begin, to ensure that the Mongols are a threat to civilization no more...

The Emperor was overjoyed. His troops venturing northwest to the borders of what the natives called Bombay had found another group of civilized people, who called themselves Indians. By all accounts, they controlled just as much, or perhaps slightly more, territory as the Empire. The Emperor resolved to be friendly to these strange people. After all, they could be the only other civilized people in the world!
Not wanting to cause any disputes, he sent a messenger off to the head of their nation to discuss possible borders in the future.
The economy had picked up again, and the Emperor wanted it to increase even more as Sri Lanka controlled new lands. To do this, however, he needed a larger armed forces to control the new lands that he discovered. He wouldn't have any trouble recruiting- his people were very excited about the new lands being discovered.
His people were also making progress on the shipyards, and he had been presented with a plan that showed its finished layout, which he had just approved.

Orders
-Increase Army Size.
-Continue wonder (3/6)
-Expand north into BIH, BAN, and MDH with 2/3 of the army, following the land-division deal made with India. Place the highest priority on MDH, followed by BIH.

Greetings from the south! We are pleased to meet you and wish nothing but peace with another civilized people! To this end, our scribes have drawn a map with a possible division of the uncivilized lands between us. The lighter colors are the potential territories each of us would have. Is this division satisfactory?

P.S. In your country's travels, have you found any other civilized nations? If so, could you perhaps place us in contact with each other? It would be greatly appreciated.

a great divide between us will only cause us to weak- together, we can be strong and prosperous- our cultures are greatly similer, our people, one int he same- we suggest unifacation, and to ensure equality, a new city, Saturnia, founded by both of us half way between the current Etruscan capital and the Roman capital- wuth the both the current capitals remainign as major cities

I think we feel better independant then merged with someone else. Sorry.

Hello! Peace between us to nation sounds great indeed! The map of our land divides is acceptable, and we also know a nation of the north... some who they call the Samarkland of such. Would you like contact with them?
