stAMNES: Never Ending Story

A suggestion about the map...I don't know about other people, but I like thin border lines better than thick ones. Not crucial, just a preference.

Though the blockade had been decimated by the Hokkaidan navy, the Kyotans had struck back and taken back much of the land that the army had conquered. Things are not going well, indeed!

"People of Hokkaido!" stood forth a tribal leader. "Our economy is in tatters and our soldiers tired and weary! We cannot afford to build up ourselves, so I ask you -- you, men of Hokkaido -- to volunteer! It is our destiny to rule over that island, that island with so many resources and so much living space. We cannot allow mere barbarians to reign over such a place while we civilized people eke out a living on this tiny piece of land! It is a call to arms! Come forward and join the fight as conscripts if you wish to see our great destiny fulfilled!"

Only time would tell if the call to arms spread amongst the villages of the confederacy would mean anything. At the same time, battle plans were being drawn up to help recover the land lost to the Kyotans. With the military in such a state, and the economy stuck in a recession, no hope existed of beating the barbarians with their incredibly small army.

No, they needed to use their brains. Tactics and strategy would help them win THIS battle. One tactic was especially appealing, and was set in motion immediately -- the use of a friendly Kyotan who had switched sides. He would infiltrate a Kyotan village and spread rumors telling of a horrifyingly powerful lizard whose icy breath will freeze even the hottest fires. That this beast is being ressurrected by Hokkaidan priests even now!

It would be an elaborate hoax that would hopefully buy some time for the Hokkaidan military, and perhaps sway some Kyotan villages to revolt to the Confederacy. At the very least, it would make them more jittery and, hopefully, more clumsy because of that.

At the same time, small groups of well-hidden Hokkaidan soldiers would ambush small groups of Kyotan troops, killing them all and taking no prisoners. This would also hopefully dishearten the Kyotans...

Orders:

Issue a call to arms amongst the villages and cities of the Confederation. With a little luck, this will increase the military at least a little and make beating the Kyotans a little easier. If ANY men volunteer, they will be sent over to the TOK region to help the more experienced soldiers.

Meanwhile, said Kyotan spy is to infiltrate a lightly-defended Kyotan village and spread a false rumor [making sure to remain anonymous] about an ice lizard being ressurrected by Hokkaido and how it will destroy every Kyotan who does not join the Hokkaidans. This will hopefully spread to other villages and negatively affect them...

At the same time, small bands of troops are to ambush little groups of Kyoto soldiers whenever they are vulnerable. The Kyotan troops are to be completely killed, no surrender possible.

The main part of the navy shall continue patrolling the waters between the islands. Another blockade would be bad.

Finally...increase economy.

The Emperor was pleased with the progress of the expansion. The settlers of the Empire had expanded along the eastern coast of the entire peninusula, and had reached the mountain ranges that signaled the beginning of the mainland.
But things were not so good in foreign relations, as the runner who had arrived from the Indian border had informed him before he collapsed from exhaustion. The Indians were being threatened by a merciless barbarian tribe from deep within the mountains which had sworn to eliminate all Indian live. The Sri Lankans WOULD defend their friends.
And so, for the first time ever, the Emperor found himself drawn into a war. And he sensed a way to help Sri Lanka, while also helping India at the same time...

Orders
*Secret*
-Continue Wonder (4/6)
-If India sends the Economy Level, use it to increase the army training.
-Increase economy if India doesn't send the economy level or if it does and I can increase economy while getting aid. If it sends the level and I can't also increase it, then don't.
-Send a small attack force over the border with the Tibetan tribes, as shown on the map. The purpose of this force is to draw the brunt of the enemy near us. It should push into enemy land, then try to hold its position, and not advance too much.
-Using the navy, send the rest of the soldiers to BUR, as shown on the map. Send the army from there against the Tibetans. They should be caught off guard, which will gain us momentum. We will move quickly, and try not to lose the element of surprise.
-Settle BUR, using the navy (settlers will also be carried on the ships).

Greetings! We will most definitely help you, and have formulated the battle plan below. While you defend your lands and try to mount an attack, we will attack from the flank and try to catch them by surprise.
There is just one problem. Our troops could use training, but we lack the money to train them. We notice that you seem to be relatively prosperous, so could you give us an Economy Level for us to train our men to help you? We would greatly appreciate it. If you can't , we will still attack, but it may not be as effective.
By the way, would you like to cement our alliance further and agree to a Mutual Protection Pact in addition to our current NAP?

The Empress of Mediterranea had heard rumors of war to the south. Her trading partners, the Romans and Carthaginians, had gone to war over territory on the island of Sicily, the very same land Rome had refused to sell to Mediterranea at any price. The Empress, a champion of peace (or so she pottrayed herself) was grieved by the battles and the decimation of the Roman and Carthaginian fleets and armies, both so noble and pretty in their shining armor. The Empress had especially grown "attached" to a certain member of the Honor Guard for the Roman ambassador in Massilia, though he had been called away along with the rest of his comrades-at-arms to fight for Rome on Sicily.

Worse yet, the Empress had heard whispers of an alliance between Etruria and Carthage. While such rumors were yet to be proven true or false, the Empress was still ready to prepare an army should such a dangerous alliance turn against Mediterranea. (*SECRET* Orders: +2 Army, +1 Army training)

Nonetheless, festivities lingered in Mediterranea one day after the celebration of Settlement Day, the day commemorating the founding of Massilia. Even the tribesmen of Katalonea had joined in the festivities, now willing members of the Empire of Mediterranea. Things were good in the Empire.

OOC: Do I have contact with England or the Huns [Germany] yet?
