The Brick and The Rose
Story:
When the Babylonian council declared war on Samarhand (sp?) little did they know that this war would bring about the rule of the counsil. THe decision was almost unanimous - Babylon would help its neighbor, India, against this threat. Within just a few months after the desision, first columns of warriors were marching towards the enemy. However the counsil forgot about the different generals. Babylonian army never was united, and each general or member of the council lead his own column into battle, and this reduced greatley the organization on the field. This time, it changed.
When the army got to the border the general's oppinions split. Some felt it is necessary to wait and lure the enemy out, others thought a direct attack on the capital best. While the generals and the counsil rested in indesision a young and ambitious general put his plan into action. He gathered the capitains of the army, the officers that actually led the people and either talked them into, or bribed them into following him. The next morning the generals woke up to find that most of the army has marched off under the command of one general. This general chose to encircle the capital of the enemy before the final attack. He has also started conducting diplomacy by himself in the name of the whole nation. The council was outraged, but 15 old generals could not do anything to stop him.
This general's name was Nebekanezer, and even though the council still existed, he was no the de facto ruler of Babylon.

Here are your two eco, we would like Iron Age in return
To Sri Lanka:
We would apreciate it if you halted your expansion in the Arabian Peninsula, and focused your expansion elsewhere, Africa perhaps. Could we postpone the sale of the colonies for one or two turns? Babylon simply does not have the money to be fighting a war, advancing into the new age, and buying land at the same time.
