Yeah. The Cardassian are a far more greater danger than the Dominion. The Dominion just attack and die near Bajor. The Cardassians attack Betazed, and die about 50% of the time. I keep sending Sovereign-class vessels from Earth, Andor, Delta and a few other planets as reinforcements. I have send a large fleet (20 Sovereigns) three times already. The first one was the most succesfull. It conquered three Cardassian planets, and showed up at Cardassia with five ships, but they all died and two of the planets were reconquered. The second was just a big disaster. It didn't even conquer one planet. It was surprised by about seven of those new Galor-class ships, and then by a lot of torpedos (strange, 'cause they don't use them if you're standing near the gates of their planet). The third was quite succesful, one Cardassian planet and two Dominion planets were conquered. But as for now, I have to watch my defence in Betazed.

I had a few Sovereigns in my game but I mostly used Norways (much cheaper) for my main fleet. The other ships have different functions but I think you need to build all of them to be sucessful.

I use the Sovereign as a defence, too. They're very strong. And I don't want to change production, so I sed a lot of Sovereigns to f.e. Betazed as reinforcements, realise that there are twenty sovereigns thare,l take fifteen, and go out to conquer a Cardassian planet.
