Where are you getting these from? Btw they look suspiciously similar to the models used in a mod for a little mac game called Escape Velocity am I right in think ing that this is the source for the models?
 
Could be from the old Star Wars Modeling Alliance, or perhaps even a 3D website from 3D cafe..... I know the modeling alliance made great models back in the day, their website is down now though.


ARe those animations copyrighted since you arent saying where u got them? Don't wanna be using something that is from lucas arts or something.
 
These animations are collected from free animated GIF collections from around the web. The site has stated none of them are copyrighted and are free of use, outside of using these models for profit. So no worries, i'm not sure as to where or why these animation models were made but i'm pretty sure there's no legal tender as to their use for non profit. If that were so I think CivII's Star Wars mod would have had problems since all of those units were derived from Lucas Arts and Lucas Film copyrighted images. Anyways, i'm almost positive you have nothing legal to worry about when using these animations for free use.
 
Ok here is first image of AT-AT that I made. Most of modeling is done, I kept it simple since it will be so small anyways.

Anyone have any good pictures of an AT-AT to use for textures? I have one photo but its a slightly strange angle so i might have to just make my own but i'd like to use the real textures.

Wow scipio, thanks for all the animation. For everyone helping with unit animation, youre making our work easier.

Secondly, i know that the awing animation doesnt look that good for the north animation, but that was just used to fill in for now.

I cant remember who asked this, but for the .bic that cant be opened. Its currently in a WinAce zip file. If the problem is that you cant open the .ace file then you can download winace. If its with the .bic file, im not sure why it wouldnt be opening for you.

Neo, welcome to the sw mud unit animation team. So far constisting of me, Plastic Bag and Scipio providing lots of animations for us to work with. If anyone else is making units i thank you also. Your images so far look great neo, thanks.

Next, the beta with 1 animation for each unit. I was thinking of this, but there is still alot of other work besides unit animation, such as figuring out what technology advances are needed. What comes with these advances and how much they'll cost. Also i need ideas for resources. I currently have 2 star wars resources (adegan crystals, and nerf). Also, what units there will be is another part that has to be considered. I need more city names for every civ also. Terrain graphics have to be changed, im changing all the text files, i havent started work on the civilopedia yet, etc.... So an alpha version with alot of stuff from regular civ that hasnt been changed will come out as soon as i finish some aspects of it. The beta wont be due for a good amount of time after that, and the finished version who knows when.

I havent checked those terrain graphics out yet, but will do so soon.

Mind disturbing my work? Anything made by anyone will be considered, and if animation probably used because i dont have time to make them ;)
 
I've started working on an animation for the TIE Interceptor, and thanks to Scipio Africanu for posting the GIF that I used to start it. This is my first attempt at making a unit, but I think it's going OK for me (Now I see how time-consuming it is to make a unit!). I did the Default and Run animations, and I'm working on the Attack animation. I'd post a preview, but I'm not sure how to do that (I'm new to these forums). I don't know how much longer it will be before I'm done (It's my first try and I can't crank out a unit in two days like other more experienced people around here can), but I hope it turns out OK when I'm finished. So far, the SW mod looks like it will be great and I'm definitely looking forward to it.
 
Woo, i get to add TedG to the animations team!!!!! With all the unit and graphics people ive got helping now, i can get back to work on more game mechanics. BTW- Just finished Awing attack animation will finish the unit tommorow.

tpasmall, how do you attach GIFs like that? I'd like to post the attack animation for the TIE Interceptor, but I don't know how to paste images right into my post...

Maybe this will work...
If it does, here is the attack animation for the TIE Interceptor that I've been working on. This is the only angle of the animation I've gotten done so far. I'd like some feedback if possible.
