Star Wars: The Mod - Unit requests

I am in school. My work load is tremendous since all my classes are honors. I alos am spending time in looking for colleges the major in 3d graphic design. Recently i went to the weta digital site to contact them and ask them some questions about what they recommend for a major and what college etc...

So...whyen i am on line (rarely) i check out this thread to see how it is doing.
 
OK, im not just defending my first unit, but do either of the 'home ones" look like the mc-40? i'm pretty sure the mc-40 has the two distinctive side fins and everything... i've been really busy with other stuff and don't really have the time to check them myself.
However,i know jobiwan's looks like the home one, so this can't be the mc-40. maybe there could be a capital ship upgrade, to make them from lethal to ass-wooping or something. That way you could use both of them... i dunno.
 
Wait . . then where would the MC40 fit in? Would we just go Nebulan B Frigate > MC80>MC85 with the Home One Capital Ship?? I kinda liked the MC40 in the unit tree . . and personally i dont care if it looks exactly like it, just as long as it can pass for an MC40. Where are the previews for the other units (i found jobiwans but i cant find sheepys or morpheus')?? If i could see the units i could probably give a better opinion . . .
 
Here's an early preview of the Republic Diplo Cruiser, which I got done re-coloring the textures, adding civ-color and scaling to civ size last night. Any comments or suggestions before I start animating? :)

Looks great! I was going to do this and make the entire red portion civ-colored...make it more of a "real" diplomatic unit in that you could see for sure what group it belongs to. That coloration really looks great though, I can't wait to see it animated.

I also want to apologize to you guys for my apparent lack of activity unit-wise. I had a nasty computer crash a week or two ago, and I just went ahead and got a new one. Once I've got it in, probably end of this week, I'll be back with some new ones :cool:
 
Great job, jobiwan! Those things are awesome! I have three ideas to incorporate them into the mod or a scenario:

1. We (in either the mod or the EU scenario) give the Mon cal their own civ, after we finish the main mod. We could use a lot of the ideas for amphibious fighters and mon cal warriors from the Clone Wars comics and cartoons, and we could even nick a few designs from Dark Empire.

2. We could just give the New Republic in the EU like, 4 flagships, (Home One, Viscount, etc.)

3. With some crafty cut'n'pasting on the attack, those two (especially the Republic-class Star Destroyer) could be like a stolen ship terraformed by the Yuuzhan Vong, and used as one of their capital ships in the EU.
 
Yep.

They are the equivalent to a horseman or something, except with an electrified stick/spear.
 
I know we need to make a lot of units, but i don't think its right to just cheat and use other units and pretend they're the units we say they are - in my mods i use placeholder units, because i know the unit will be made, but just cutting and pasting an existing unit slightly wouldn't make it a decent new units... and why would the vong even consider stealing republic ships, considering they're genophobic and all...

yeah, but this is a mod i which we have to take little here or there to make it work right. I say why not?

Also, why would C'n'P be any worse than a "real" unit? Some of the best units out there, or at least the most functional ones, are Cut'n'Paste.
 
This is my first post in a while cause i've been busy. It seems that the mod is going along well. Just wonderin, how are we in terms of the Clone War units?

Also if nobody knowns Star Wars: Empire At War will be coming out this week!!!!!
