Starcraft

BSer = BackStabber? If so I hate them with a vengence also!!!! When I find my BroodWar CD I am all about a game online, or maybe a NoCD hack for version 1.09? I can only find them for up to 1.08! Come on hackers, help please!

I just had a rather funny game, I was fighting as Toss against another Toss veteran, 255 wins anyone? Anyway, I hit all of his main resourse bases with reaver drops, blew the crud outta his probes, lost about 15 reavers. And planted about 25 dark templar all over the place... End Game, We were devoting our entire workforce to minig for the construction of replacement units for a battle that had been raging on his territory for 10 min!!! It was one of those, reasource wars... It was not going anywere, soooo I had my DTs attack his probes. His units stopped coming, and I blew him sky high. Ah, sweet victory. 2 hours wasted.

Wow, I am suprised I did not find this topic earlier. Guess I did not look hard enough.

Starcraft is probably my favorite computer game. I have beaten 9 of the terran missions, all of the Zerg Missions, and 5 of the protoss missions. I had fun with Zerg guardians. When playing on battle dot net, I used to only use terran, but then experimented with zerg and protoss. Had most success with terran and protoss...somehow zerg doesn't treat me well in mplayer. Anyway, I cannot beat the 10th terran mission. It's impossible. I have wasted hours and hours and days and days trying to beat that, and fail every time. I just cheated through it so I could go on and see the cinematic at the end. I felt bad until my friend who is a StarCraft genius said the mission is impossible. He is in a clan and is incredibly good and played thousands of games.

I have Brood War but I did not play it yet.

My friend says it's impossible

Nothing is impossible, my friend:D . Is this the last one in starcaft or
Brood War? If it was broodwar than I would say that one is extreml;ey
easy. If it was starcraft, I don't know. But ZI haven't played the missions
in almost a year.

What me and my freind do online against other players is I play Terrians and my freind plays Protoss and he creates a base and I fly my moble base over to his place and we create one mega base with the best defenses of Terrians and Protoss also our base spits out people twice as fast and we have yet to even lose defenses
with that power we just roll over everyone else :D people HATE us.

shared bases suck on most maps because there isnt enough resources...

btw, StarCraft is my favorite game EVER... second would be Diablo1.. civ1 is up there too and Alpha Centuari, caeser 3, heros 3, and maybe warcraft2 aswell... thats pretty much the only games i ever play...

EDIT: oh btw as u guys r talkin about missions... ive beat them all, and i still do sometimes because their so damn fun... well, back to work...

You said the Terran Campain last mission was impossible?
And you said your friend was good? Damn I'm disappointed to make you feel a bit  but well it's so easy...
Actually it has been admitted that the Starcraft AI has been totally limited in the campaign in order not to scare newbies in RTS. Actually this AI only shows its whole "power" in the skirmish mode. And then it's really aggressive.

In the campaign it attacks from time to time and always at the same place. I could remember, each time I heard the comp launching a nuke, I always scanned the map at the same spot and each time I could hear my siege tank shoot at a poor ghost :)
That shows the innovative AI....

Nah I tell you, it might be a bit long to complete but this mission is NOT impossible. Took me 2 hours, indeed. But I was taking my time, playing like a cat with a mouse :D

I have made many a scenario with the campain AI, you are very right Genghis. The Campaign AI is horrible! Even the "insane" AI is horrible, they don't even really buid anything, even workers. Sometimes they don't even get gas:eek:

The custom AI is alot more strategic, I have seen use of high ground, useful yamato usage(rare), among others.

Man. All this StarCraft talk and I can't find my Broodwar CD!!!! Just you wait until I can find that and brush up on my tecnique. :)

I never did like playing the campaign. I went straight for multiplayer.

OK, just purchased StarCraft and Broodwar again! I am now ready to play. I am going to go on battle.net first and play around but if anyone wants to play with or against me PM, email, or IM me.

I saw your cancel PM and I got (what I think) is your PM, ohwell. We need a better way to communicate. I will try the CFC chat and see if you are in there. Also I connect to Battle.net East name PaleHorse76 if it is still avail :)

Alright. Go to CFC chatroom, not [CFC] as Corn said, I am in it currently. I actually never played with anybody I sort of new before, only strangers who I can't track down and strangle;)

ohwell and I had some really good games. Our first one versus 1 computer was sad though as we got a broken Zerg AI. For some reason, every once in a while, I get a broken Zerg AI. Well all it did was build a few drones and maybe a second Overlord so when ohwell (know as Lord_Hammers on battle.net) came in we really kicked some serious ass.

Well the next game we played we wanted a little bit more competetion so ohwell said up it to 2 AI random. So we ended up getting Terran and Zerg, which I find to be a good combination to fight against (meaning, it was a challenge). Well, ohwell ended up saving my ass as I was playing around and didn't have enough defenses or any air support, from the Terrans. I then mass produced air troops (Guardians and Devourers, mostly Guardians). We went in and wiped out the Terrans, who put up a fight then wnet immediately for the zergs, who after killing a good portion of my first 12 guardians feel from the combined might of ohwell's troops and my other 12+ guardians.

The third game we played was a versus one that ohwell kept saying I was goign to beat him. I told him that if he played the Toss (the first game he played the Terrans, which he likes better, but he does better with the Protoss, which he played in the second game) he would stand a good chance of winning. Well we played with me finding him first and sending down a few zeals to harrass his production. He already had 3+ Gateways that were producing troops so he was able to stop me from really doing some damage. Since I knew where he was and he had no idea where I was coming from I took some time to build up some defense, which I had none of before. I build up 3 cannons in a straightline going south to north and put 6 zeals in front. He was completely suprised at how fast his 2 or 3 zeals were taken out when they found my base that I got a good chuckle. I was the main attacker and he repeled me every time including my failed goon drop. I tried to drop 2 dragoons on the little hilly area behind his mineral gatherers but for some reason the drop ship wouldn't cooperate. Well his sairs made short work of it and I lost them all. I made many all out attacks but none of them were successful. I think that if he would have made some return attacks right after I made my attacks that he may have killed me early. As it went though we decided to call it quits after he tried an all out attack on me. It was doomed from the start since he told me that he was goign to attack, I knew what to look for, but it wasa good try. I ended up leaving b/c my connection with battle.net was lost anyways. The thing that ohwell might not have know is that I had 2 other bases that were gathering mins and gas for me in addition to my main one so I had 10k mins in reserve and lots of gas also. Ohwell is a very fun guy to play with and is very kind. :) Good games man.

Oh, I knew man... I had a couple of scouts scouting around and they spotted them, and I sent observers to go nearby. I would have attacked but I dind't want to risk you attacking my base again. I didn't bother expanding because I had enough rescources, app. 16000 of each, but I din't bother to upgrade until the near end, I only had one forge and one cyber core. Near the end I realized I had a full group of completley healthy corsairs by the Nexus, and I had forgotten about them, and I used them in that all out attack. I noticed that you killed all my ground troops, but You had no air power left for my corsairs to kill. So, they just sat there, getting pounded by dragoons.

And you are very kind and fun to play with too! :goodjob: I had fun.

Does anyone have any reliable tips or tactics for beating the last protoss mission in the original Starcraft? That is the mission where you have to manage both a terran base and a protoss base and defeat the zerg overmind in the center of the map.

Also, how about the last (10th) terran mission? I could not beat that one without cheating. This is the one where you have to kill the proton gun at the top. Does anyone know reliable tricks to beat this?

The standard campaign is sooo easy ;) Well I think there are several things to keep in mind:
_ may seems stupid to say but shortkeys rules and are essential for surviving. Just ask the ladder champions themselves on Bnet :)
_ concerning the protoss last mission, I don't see major difficulties. Actually it's even an advantage playing 2 sides. You can combine a armada of 24 siege tanks in alterned formation, plus archons and scouts and Bcruisers for support. A tip: ALL Zerg units are extremely vulnerable to irradiate. And of course psionic storm. Just watch out for the defilers and their damn plague, and the queens with their broodling. So protect the sieg tanks with archons far in front of them, then scouts to prevent queens. Archons will stop scourges, while the tanks will wipe out from far, the hydralisk and other light infantry (hydralisk, zergling...)
Use yamato to progressively destroy the colonies. Another thing is to hit and run. When you attack a place, destroy one or 2 building then run and attack another place. AI will get all its units to the previously attacked spot so you can do that as many time as you like :)
_ Terran campain: nuke + yamato. No other word. Destroy progressively the turrets using yamato. One single shots is sufficient.

Anything else? :)
