Starting new game: use v3.1 or SVN ?

Hi, first great mod by the looks of it, looking it over makes me want to play Civ4 again after a few years break, thank you for that.

I am eager to start a game, but i cant decide if I should use the 3.1 release version or the SVN version and being new to RI I find the new content so overwhelming that I am unable to spot the decisive differences myself yet.


So,
would it be possible to get some cliffnotes as to what (major/interesting) changes are incorporated in the SVN compared to the 3.1 version?

I suggest you play both

3.1 is a complete version and SVN is a test/devenlopment version. By downloading the SVN interface you can look (without donwload the files) at all our upgrades - they are commented.

When I load up v3.1 it takes a few seconds to load. When I load SVN it takes about 3-5 mins. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

Afaik that is normal if you have not packed the art assets as described in this link:

(follow it to the letter or it wont work most likely)

There is also explained why it takes so long without doing that.
