I have fixed for myself the startup problem. Two things occured to me while doing it:
- I had to both update my sound driver and reinstall direct X 8.0 to fix it. Video drivers did absolutally nothing.
- After fixing it I still got no music and troubles with sound.
Add to the people saying that they had to remove their sound card to get the damn game working and you think there might be a point somewhere here . . .
