Is there anything that can see a Stealth Destroyer besides another Stealth Destroyer?

The XML tags are:

<Invisible>INVISIBLE_STEALTH</Invisible>
<SeeInvisible>INVISIBLE_STEALTH</SeeInvisible>

No other unit has either of these tags. Does this mean nothing else can spot them? :crazyeye:

Do Stealth Destroyers exist in the real world? i've never heard of such a thing.

The US Navy is developing stealth destroyers (prototypes have been tested), but is having severe difficulties with domestic shipbuilding companies and cost over-runs.

They look basically like the in-game one, providing very little radar reflection.

Yes an no, there are current stealth ships in operation, but these are designed to look like another ship on rader rather than be invisable.

You can always remeber the first american prototype, far in 1985, the Sea Shadow ( it was too much effective: it gave a radar hole that allowed the detection )

I saw one with my own eyes down at the Norfolk navel base. It looked sweet!

Yes, Britian is trialing some stealth destroyers in the clyde estuary, i saw it myself so its hardly invisible;)

But could your radar set detect that stealth destroyer from several miles/klicks away? That's the issue here.

I had the thought that they had that sloping shape to stop radar from detecting them, so i would say no

Stealth destroyers and and aegis cruisers are nice additions. Especially because the aegis now finally replaces the battleship. I don't think the destroyer should be replaced. Instead how about modern destroyers and stealth destroyers with sd acting something like a cross between sub and privateer and it has a few unique abilites liek surprise attack or something.
Speaking of subs they should get significantly stronger in the modern era. The most significant ship to ship threat even today is the sub- especially with the advent of high speed guided torpedoes and underwater launched missiles.

Hang on there, how can a corvette be the first anything destroyer?
Corvette, Frigate, Destroyer are frequently just different names for basically the same thing these days. Europe particularly is tending towards the Frigate term, thinking that Destroyer is a too "violence oriented" term. Corvette used to be a term for a small destroyer.

Oh, and can someone advise if stealth destroyers will actually try to defend against enemy air attacks under 3.13 now?

lol @ Europe. "It's a peace frigate! Just ignore those Harpoon ASMs...."

I'm not knowledgeable of naval... stuff. I just always thought corvettes was small and relatively nimble, whereas destroyers are big and mean. And not really interchangeable.

I've never seen one, but then I'm not a stealth destroyer. Hmm...
