Not enough brass bits, nor cogs and gears!

Had I known I was butt-up against a page change, I would have saved the picture for this post.

Spoiler Whatever. In case you missed it last time... :

No cogs, no gears. Hard plastic and steel.

Feel free to start a Hard plastic and steel thread then.. this is the Steam Punk thread...

I really like a lot of steampunk styling because I like things that look raw and industrial. I would humbly suggest that people who dress up in steampunk attire should stop highlighting their pretend weapons. It's silly--steampunk's charm doesn't come from guns but clothes/vehicles/modern things that use old tech etc--and it takes away from the aesthetic.

I agree entirely. Seeing a Steampunk mobile is impressive. seeing a "steampunk" imaginary gun.. not so much..

Arcanum was really fantastic, but that's all I know about steampunk. I've given some thought to running an Arcanum-style GURPS game, though.

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind was particularly enjoyable. I read it years ago so I can't remember how steampunk it was... definitely not of the strict victorian variety.

I might be too old to play with action figures, but that doesn't mean I don't really want these:

As much as steampunk seems interesting, it keeps getting ruined by me remembering that bad Will Smith movie with the giant steam spider.

I'm indifferent towards steampunk these days, but as a kid I used to play Steel Empire on the Sega Genesis. It was a steam punk influenced side scrolling shooter.

How is it perverse to find Will Smith sexy?

Hell if I know, but I've been around people on the internets long enough to know that some douche out there will find it to be so.

I don't understand the placement of the key there at all...

Wouldn't it be hard to type with that thing in the way? Why not put it on the outside? You'd have to carry it in your pocket to close the lid... very inconvenient...

I know, but it's still a pretty awesome addition for the aesthetic. But pointless? Absolutely. (Obviously, all of this is pointless from a purely utilitarian standpoint.)

Turn it on with the key then remove it.
