Naval fighter do not have bombard capabilities, only interception.
Naval fighter bomber have bombard capabilities, and lethal sea bombardment.

Fighter and Fighter bomber can both bombard, but of course FB are better, and fighter are better against plane. Fighter and fighter bomber are usually a bit better than naval ones, but they cannot base on aircraft when naval fighter can base anywhere, and the land base do not have lethal bombardment.

Last, Bombers have a greater range, and high bombardment rate, but they cannot intercept, nor base on carrier.

Of course, these are just general settings. There are a few exception, like the Japanese zero which get advantage of a naval Fighter and a fighter bomber, or the Stuka which is land based but has lethal bombardment.

I hope it will make games more enjoyable, and less repetetive : any time you play a new civ, you get lots of new units!

ok, so where is the latest version? I downloaded it two weeks ago, but it seems like you've updated it?
 
The third era is now finished (except if someone release new units animation soon ;) ).
I need to test it once again : as I have changed a lot the names of the unit folder (with 416 units, it was to hard to maintain), I need to check that all the units are working OK.

Beta 3 should ba available at the end of the week.
This time, it will be release in several parts (easier to upload and downloads).
 
I've just finished testing the mod with the latest changes. It seems to be OK.

Here is a small picture with all the units together (from my test scenario when I load every units to check for files and type in the ini).

I need a new FTP account to upload the mod, and some time to do it, and then you can play it. Pb: the mod is now 170 Mb when zipped :(

Is it a general feeling?

Who want me to release Beta 3 with era 1, 2 and 3 completed immediately (416 units, 170 Mb)?

Who want me to wait for the final version, with the 4th era added? I don't know the size yet, but it should be over 200 Mb.

The final version will probably not come out before C3C.

However, will a World Map be available for it at any stage and, if so, how big would it be (As in, would England be able to contain about 2 cities or would it be able to sport 20?)?

Actually I made a world map for the mod. But there is something about this map that I would need to discuss with Steph(if you´re interestet that is;)) private, before releasing it.

I converted a 362x362 world map to this mod it is very fun it you want to try it let me no;)
 
Files are ready, I'm only waiting for Thunderfall clearance.

I have two other questions :
- Would you be interested by several version of the mod: the standard one, and version focus on each era, where you would get only the units and techs of this era? So you can start directly there, and you cannot go to far?
Like I want to play with my roman legions, and don't want to ever reach gunpowder?

The cost of the techs would x4 to keep longer game.
 
Hi Steph, I'm on Beta two, using America as my player.

I'm having trouble with something. I can't get a settler of any kind on any boats. I even added a wagon to the mod as a custom unit and even it won't get on the boats. So I'm stuck on my island and can only get my troops to the other islands.

Any thoughts?

Also, and this is general, how can you get the arrows in the tech tree back? I know you're adding a ton of tech's, but I can't figure out visually what leads to what. Is this a limitation with the software, or can it be fixed? I thought it was the software and then I realized that the last 2 eras, where there aren't too many tech's also do not have the arrows.

Only the greek settlers can board early boats. The other civ must wait for more advanced boats.

You cannot. At least I'm not good enough at graphics to do it. The arrows are not automatic : you have to manually draw a picture where they are displayed at the correct place, and then the techs are added as an overlays by the software.
You can use the pictures I did that show the tech trees to help.
 
I like the way the techs are currently arranged. They're all set into specific Research Groups like Military (The Ancient Age line with things like Militarism is all Military Techs) and Horse Domestication (Top line, Ancient Age).

And Bobisback, I'd love to try out the world map you made for it.

Yep, that was the idea.
 
Ok I have been playing some more and saw that you made railroads require sapeter and rubber and I think you should change rubber back to coal because you do not get rubber an tell
a half a era after you get railroads.
