stereotypes you don't mind

I don't mind the stereotypes of Irish people. Sometimes the drunk jokes get a little old. However, I can laugh at a good Irish joke.

I will laugh at just about any racial humor as long as its well-intended, and not going to be followed up by an actual racist statement.

stereotypes annoy me, but southerners annoy me even more, they think i sound Gaelic???

I think that it is funny when other countries try to impersonate us into a certain stereotype. Normally it's some bloke named Bruce with Raelene as a grilfriend driving a Holden.
yeah i think Bruce is actually not a common name.
guys driving holdens are more likely to be called Bazza or something like that. (Area 7's "nobody likes a bogan" )

There are many things much worse than a stereotype, so why worry?

btw, what are your stereotypes about germans?
hehe.
lets just say that the german sense of humour doesn't get much credit :)

That they are all ignorant a**holes failing to appreciate what a wonderful man I am. Though on second thought that's probably more life expirience than a stereotype.

I don't mind specific stereotypes and I'm certainly not offended by them. But I would find it hypocritical if someone would be on the side offended by some and then take some kind of pride in others.
(like "What do you mean we got no humour? But thanks for recognizing our efficiency! :) ")

And from this common stereotype about Germany my conclusions are that there's something non-german about you. :D

Foreigners always seem to assume everyone in Holland smokes pot, even aged people or housewives - they always ask such people how to get to the local coffeeshop! I don't really mind but I can imagine for elderly people, who possibly never touched any drugs in their lives, it can be irritating.

The nice story about people with big feet.....

Well, I thought that replying to a quote and giving my view on the thread topic per se in the same post was quite efficient. :(

Sure, an i do recognise your germanity. :D I was just saying germanity doesn't fill you completely and you can take that as a compliment. ;)

I am half WASP (old stock American English), people in the US are afraid to stereotype us because they all work for us. We made a tidy profit selling the country to the Jews.:D

That the Northern Germans were still illiterates hunting the wild pork, while we Southern Germans were already taught how to read and write by the Romans. :p

WASP is an acronym for white anglo-saxon protestant. WASPs are descendents of the pre-revolution English colonists.

The Latin Stereotype is pretty alright with me. ;) I'm part latin, and I look like I am. If people think because I'm latin, then I'm instantly hot stuff, go on and keep on thinking. ;) There is also the stereotype that Latin people are hot-tempered and well...it's kinda true. You really don't wanna get on my bad side. :p

And since nobody figures out my part-Polish and little bit of Russian blood...I don't mind if it's done with good humor. Nor any stereotypes about Americans or New Yorkers.....it's when it's malicious that pisses me off.

But I still like the big feet stereotype....if anyone knows what that is.

I get more embarassed than offended with America's stereotype (stupid and fat)

I get somewhat offended with Kansas' stereotype (just plain stupid)

are there any stereotypes for white protestant hoosiers(people from indiana) if there are i'd be glad to hear them
