Two senators, Nicholaous Valerian and Lucius Nero left the Senate Floor. The passing people saw two of these men talking quitly by the columns outside of the Senate building, justiculating quite a bit. Nero seemed nervous, but trying to cover it up with confidence, while Valerian was more relaxed. A few minutes later they shook hands and walked back inside.
Senator Lucius Letium Nero got up again. Unusual for the old senator to speak more than once a day, and the hall quited down again. "Senators, I stand in solidarity with Senator Marius Ytterbaen. The position of Consul should go to the head of one of the oldest and most respectful families in Nesos - Senator Valerian." At this moment Lucius looked straight at Valerian who was sitting not far in front of him, "And I am sure that Senator Valerian, upon being elected Consul, will obey the will of the Gods and would never do something that disaprove of strongly."

I thank the venerable senator for his early endorsement of Pyronicus Vo as the chief judge and mean no disrespect to the gods ... All hail the gods and may they forever watch over us ... however I for one would like to hear the good candidate speak for himself ... after all ... and I would think that Lucius Leticum would agree ... the position of judge is just too important to appoint without due consideration ... Feraurius nods to his peers, gives Lucius a long stare, smiles and winks, then slowly sits back down ...

An eagle appeared on the horizon... it flew towards the city of Nessos. It gave a mighty impression with slow wings movement. Slowly in flew over town where the first Senate meeting of the year was unfolding. "....position of judge is just too important to appoint without due consideration" said an old man's vioce inside the Senate room and at this moment the eagle flew in. It made a round around the room, another one and one more. The stunned senators stood up and looked at the eagle. Everyone. The eagle made another fourth round and flew towards senator Paeologii. He sat on his sholder and said something in his native tongue 3 times. In the next second he was in the air flying towards the outskirts of Nessos not to be seen again.

The Commenus family did not begin from aristocratic origins, but came from the plebian class. They were originally a small time landowner on the outskirts of the city, but all that changed when a small child accidentally tripped over a rock in the middle of the field. The Child ran back and cried to his parents and the parents came out to move the rock. On closer investigation, the Father found that there were iron ore in the rock and his gut told him that there would be more iron ore around his farm. He used up all his life savings to buy the neighboring lands at an exorbitant price and then ordered diggings with the little life savings he had. After 1 month of searching, he was about to give up and call bankruptcy, but the day before he was broke, they found iron ore. In a huge abundance right under their house! The Iron ore made Alexiss great-grandfather rich off selling the iron ore to the Monarch in during the Great War for producing weapons and armor. With this huge monetary base, he set out to purchase the many workshops for pottery, eating utensils, and other iron goods. With his great contribution to the Monarch, he was given a sword by the Last King of the Galeion Dynasty, an Iron sword decorated with the emblems of the Royal House now a priceless heirloom of the Commenus Family. The years since the beginning of the Republic has been kind to the Family, some of the nearby forests have been bought to harvest them for their lumber. Even despite such great wealth, the current head of the Family never forgot his ancestors humble origins and built homes for the old, the orphans, and the disabled. What will the future be like for the Family?

Senators please hear me ... we need to think about things ... some of those present are too eager to speed though the proceedings ... I ...unlike others present , pauses to take abreath while staring pointedly at Lucius Leticum, holds the stare for a heartbeat and continues have not had the luxury of time nor impetus to discuss this outside these walls ... however i would vote for Alexis Commenus ... he is familiar with the issues of the rich and also understands the poor ... he thinks, knows the law and is fair ... eminant qualifications for judge ... in my humble opinion

I thank you all who have supported my bid for judge. My fellow senators, we are on the dawn of a new age. Nessos has grown since its founding, it has grown and prospered. We are the admiration of all our neighbors, they come to us seeking guidance and counsel. They model their buildings, their army, their culture after us. We cannot wane in being the prominent epitome of civilization.
What better measure of a civilization than its laws? A civilization may past, but its laws will reign. I want to become judge to propegate our culture, I want to become judge to ensure that the law of Nessos will be heard through the land and all those who hear it will be in awe and bow their heads and honor our laws! Elect me judge, and no citizen of Nessos will have to fear the law.
Again, I thank everyone for their support, and I also support my colleague, Alexis Commenus's bid for judge, and the honorable Nicholaous Valerius for consul.

"This city has been built upon solid traditions and faith in the Gods by families who have been here for hundreds of years and who have contributed to the development of this city. The Valerius family for instance-," Lucius points to Valerius and he nods as a murmur of aproaval spreads through the Senate as a sign of respect for Valerius, "Or my own family that has faithfully served this city for many, many generation." More murmur of aproval, while Lucius was not very popular nobody doubted his contributions to the city and most held great respect for him. "Now, you Senator Feraurius, even though your family has been in this city for less than one hundred years, are attempting to dictate to this Senate what to do. You and your kinds should be glad you are allowed in here at all. Take your witty comments back to where you come from."

Commenus is a pleabean whos family schemed their way to wealth and used that wealth to buy power. But he will always be a plebian, and I do not want this glorious city that our ancient families have built to be run by plebians! I think that Feraurius representing the foreigners and Commenus representing the plebeans are trying to take power away from the people it belongs to! They should be glad they are here at all, these foreign dogs and plebian scum! We gave them some power and now they want more and I shall say: 'No more!'"
