stJNES5.1: From the Beginning

I am, by the way, aware that the picts are presently being invaded by Feanor's United Kingdoms. I am aware that even should I weasel my way into survival that I will be at a disadvantaged position for, say, the next ten or so turns, aware of all of this I would like to give it a try, unless you don't want to complicate things for Feanor and I.

welcome, prancer, u may have the picts. and feanor is not invading them, they just small (yet powerful).

that said, welcome to the game :). make sure you read the rules, and send orders ASAP since update is planned for tomorrow.

I dunno, this looks like an invasion....

I was planning to do story/orders at the moment that you dropped the thumbs up.

Cruithne scowled at the traitor.

"You wouldn't lie to me?" Cruithne knew the man would, he would also expect some reward for his treason, it was almost enough to make him laugh how little these Islians understood his Kingdom.

The man nodded eagerly, fifty ships that man's King had commanded to Eire, and another Fifty to Iceland and to the isles, an army was amassing itself at his borders to finish his Kingdom, cutting off the head of his nation.

Cruithne drew his hand across his mouth, biting his lips softly, inhaling, thinking.

"I have no room in my kingdom for either traitors or liars, and you must be one or the other," he turned to the large tatooed and unarmored guards, their long spears their only defense or armament, "See to it that he is executed immediately."

The screams began already, before the man had even seen his own blood, a hopeful sign.

And hopeful signs were in short supply today.

"Sir, about the armies?"

Cruithne sighed deeply, about the armies, "I do not think he was lying, unless he aimed to start a war between us and the Islians, and were that his goal he could have found far better ways than this."

His advisor nodded intently.

"Our armies number less than six thousand, they can destroy such a force easily, our navy is smaller than any given expedition they plan to send out. There is no way to win in a military standoff between our nations, you know that as well as I."

The nod was less intent, more reserved.

"But the world is more than simply military, is it not?"

A devilish grin crossed the King's face.

Wow, I guess I have to PM my orders, since I don't need any traitors from my Kingdom spilling them to the damn Islians.

-

Also, most of my NPC Diplomacy.

Dear Islians (United Isles = Islians)

It is your intent to conquer to subjugate, to spread ideas of order and ideas of slavery, deny it as you will, but you know as well as we that there are no armies assembled for idling. It is clear that you intend to rob us of our freedom and our pride and trade them for the yoke and the whip, and we will have none of it. Even the threat of arms has ruined any trust you might have enjoyed. I ask you now, knowing the answer, will it be peace, or will you be forced to regret?

OOC: that isn't exactly fair for feanor for EffingPrancer to read his orders and still send orders...

OOC: If he wanted the m to be secret there is an excellent PM system on this site. He made no attempts to keep them secret, and they should not be regarded as secret. The question you will pose is 'The Picts were NPC, and he didn't need to keep it secret' in fact he didn't know that they would stay NPC until the end of the turn and should have been prepared for the possibility.

 typical skilord

Yellow offense: 419 men: 352 spearmen, 180 archers, 92 camel riders, 5 rebuildable galleys. They are the main occupation force, heading west, they are to occupy Ku****e territory. Blue offense: 419 men: 352 spearmen, 180 archers, 92 camel riders, 5 rebuildable galleys. They are to head west occupying the Ku****e territory they pass along. After they enter the rebelling territory, they are to attack and occupy the city southeast of the capital. when that is all done they are to cross the Nile help the Green offense occupy and attack the southernmost city, cross the nile again, and help the Red offense attack the city west of the Capital. This troop is to be the best one of the Offenses, as they have to do a lot of the work.

Donald MacDonald was sad today,

He knew that his good friend, John McCloud, would most likely die in Pictish hands, the idea of feeding them a false traitor before the invasion was his own and John knew that it would require the sacrifice of someone important enough to know of the invasion but not too important or difficult to replace, John volunteered when he proposed the plan, he was the perfect choice, important enough but replaceable, after all he was sick.

Not many knew it but John’s healer had told him that he could do little for him, he told him that he could try a risky operation to bore a hole in his skull that would give him a couple of years more of life but John refused, he would rather die for something that slowly fade away.

Only after John left for his mission the real plans were made, not that Donald believed that even under torture John would break but too many lives were at stake to risk giving knowledge of their plans to the Picts.

But still Donald MacDonald Remained sad, it wasn't easy to send a friend to his dead, even if he was sick and wanted it himself….

OOC: i hope those revised orders are PM'ed were still on time :)

Feanor, stop trying to be a sneakier bastard than me.

I'd say having someone spy your orders and react to them without your knowledge that they were even in the game merits revising your orders.

No, in all seriousness I do not blame the man, I would do the same thing in his position, however I do blame you for having no sense of humor. Honestly, am I really expected to be such an intolerable ass that I could get upset at someone for changing their orders to adapt to the environment? If not then it must be intended as some manner of humor.
