To: Portugal- you knwo very well that the Rome of old has an ideology- and even government different from thecurrent Rome- which seeks to forward its, and its allies causes by peace first, rather then war

To:Syria- rest assured, the Rome of old is not the current Rome

OOC- this is true on several levals- I'm a new player who took over Rome after it had been abandoned by its former player, sheep2- so far it seems we have very differtn way to go about gainign our goals ;)- an dofr now at least, Romes goal is that of prosperity and safety

well that and he re-unifacation of Italy ;)

xen: it doesn't matter if Rome got a new government, the people punished by them are still angry at Rome. I.E. even if Kerry gets elected president of the United States, most foriegners will still hate America.

amen: a brief history of Syria (there isn't much of it). First it was occupied by Sumer, who treated you very well. Then Judea revolted, and was given independence. This is where the Syrians came from - the people of Judea. Rome then, while backstabbing the alliance they signed with Judea, invaded and annexed. Rome treated the Jews bad, killing all who rose in rebellion. It was Sumer who once again liberated the Jews in the Great Roman War. Judea was immediately given independence. Long time goes by until Christianity is spread by a man named Jesus Christ, who preaches he is the messiah. Many Jews follow him, but when he dies, executed by Jewish officials, the first Christians are persecuted. They finally leave, and form their own nation out of Sumer, with Sumerian content, called Syria. This is modern day Syria. When the pope decided to go to Portugal instead of Syria where most of the Christians were, a flare of jealousy and anger towards Portugal swept the nation, but they soom cool down at the wishes of the Pope.

I think that just about covers it. Please continue to play it as it has been played in the past.

Jason

@Jason- I know that, btu that dosetn mean that Rome isnt goign to use the fact its under new leadership a way to try to make amends- and make new friends- the same way people and government will claim thatthey have reformed- somtimes they are even belived too ;)

anyway, my point, this sortof thing happens all the time in real life, and beat around the bush as well all might, an NES is based on what happens in real life, though if you wish me not that much, i wont make mention of it again in character, at leastr not for a long while ;)

lol, a little bit drastic there. Most foreigners don´t HATE the USA, we just disagree of the metods right now :)

Allthough you inderectly caused the death of more than 1000 sinhalese men we are willing to forgive you. Sign peace now and reopen the trade route and our forces wont attack you.

jason is right. even if kerry wins the elections, most americans will still hate foreigners.

To Rome:

What do you mean? How is this relevant to my last question, westward friend?

@amerisan- basically, there isnt much at to do in the thread right at this [point in time- all the diplo has been pretty much taken care of already, and so we are free to properlly instuct the latest initiant, and re-verse the second latest into the world of proper NESing ;)

To: Syria- what was the question again?

Roma! Portugal requests that we (Portugal and I) sign a religous pact, which shall allow us to preach our religion of Christianity jointly. I do not, however, wish to offend you. Will my joining offend you?

first off, its boud to offend Rome somwwhat- we are of the ancient religions- and have no want to change to barbaric christianity, the same as we have no want to convert to any other religion of the barbarian peoples- our belifes suit us quite well...

basically, as long as its not amilitary allaince to force the religion on any other peoples, Rome has no immediate objection to it, though the moment you start a conquest in the name of christianity, or aid another antion on the basis of religion... ;)

I had no intention preaching in lands close to you, though, good friend Rome. And currently, Syria is going through a separation of church and state, so we couldn't declare war in the name of our religion. I was planning preaching in the East, perhaps. But now that you say that you may be offended, we shall have to reconsider it.

We might not go through with it. Syria currently wishes for no wars (for now;)) and wishes not to anger another nation so much as for them to declare war upon me.

OOC-that should be from syria- if its written that way, youd be makeing diplomacy in the name of my nation- a rather big no-no ;)

Oops! I accidentally typed Rome.:( Sorry.:)

to Syria:
First we find no reason in Rome's attitude of trying to control the future of Syria and your liking of them...
Second the Christian leauge is ment to be, for now, a defensinve leage that will defende christians in the world. For example if any country begin killing christians we will stop them. If they throw christians out of their country, we will stop them. A alliance to help christians.

To:Portugal- a nation has ever right to excomunicate citizens from it borders as it pleases- this includes christians

To: Syria- dont let either of uour nations- Portugal, or Rome pressure you into a choice- I'm sure both out nations are willign to wait for you to coem to your own choice on the matter- Rome certainlyl is at least

(and same here with the AOL name- when I had AOL I could talk to people who were using AIM- and still can if I happen to be talkign to somone who has AOL- I dont, but I do have the AIM program- I am more then confident it would work with AOL)

to Portugal:

We just happen to have sympathy for Rome, as it was once mighty until an alliance of multiple nations tore it down. And they offered us a Free Trade agreement, which has helped both our nations. Good Portugal, is Syria allowed to make allies besides you? Syria finds you trying to tell us that Rome is bad. We are confident that both you and Rome are good nations, but Syria does not like being persecuted for being friends with a nation that you may not agree with.

Please, good Atlantic Kingdom of Portugal, we wish to have peace. Let us put an end to this petty squabbling.

OOC: The reason I don't wanna IM is because I'm probably not going to be on the same time as you, (often) and this especially goes for people on the opposite side of the world!:crazyeye:

to Syria:
A bounch of allied destoried old Rome cause they were evil ;)
We pushing you no where just know that being in the middle of Roman-Portuguss reletions is far from staying alone ;)

(I think somone should tell you Portugal and Rome don't have the best reletions in the world... more of a every turn threat of war, decleration and repeace...)
(and your AOL please :D) (I find no time diffrences, you are online when I am... Tought I'm online all the time... :p)

OOC:
"(I think somone should tell you Portugal and Rome don't have the best reletions in the world... more of a every turn threat of war, decleration and repeace...)"

no words more truer than that erez :)
