stJNES9 - Changing Times

History of the warring clans of Mongolia

Thus, the 5 clans went on warring. The ambitious Juklep Taisil had given up his huge pasture in persuit of other, fresher pastures to the southeast of the Gobbi. He found the fertile plains he was looking for,but in the east of his newly claimed region, there was villages oweing allegiance to Taijung. He quickly attacked, and forced those villages to his submition, and went on claiming other territory, gaining himself a nice border with that of the chinese.

Tujet,in the north was left alone by his brothers, and he began a series of wars against the other clans in the north, hoping to bring the Tujet clan in control of as many mammer jammers as possible, before he died.

Taisil, who had been defeated by Kerand in the begining, forced from his land,he went east, pounding the other steppe tribes in his way as he went.He was weak, and feeble bodied after his defeat against Kerand, and when Juklep Taisil attacked later,he was totally unable to do anything about it.He left the villages attacked to their fate,as he lie on his death bed. Thus, the first of the Taijung clan died.Since he was the leader of his clan, his son took his first name as his middle name, and the clan kept it's name "Taijung".His son,Tigrul, was he who took command of Taijung.

Yulim, the youngest, and most nieve brother of the bunch, also had the weakest ability to lead. After being defeated by Slev,he had tried going southwest,to find pastures that he could be left alone with...He did this to some extent, but his clan was so small, now, that he couldn't claim much land for himself. Thus, when Juklep Taisil came to power over Slev's clan and moved southeast,he promptly reclaimed his old pastures.

The eldest of the 5 brothers,Kerand, had been the most silent in this period.Only taking what he needed, which wasn't much, since his herds went all but unhindered in fertile grazing fields.Kerand died after Taijung, and his son,Jeln, took reigns of power.

Juklep Taisil died soon after Taijung, and his son,Kuplip, took power.Kuplip Taisil was just as ambitious as his father, but was also very stupid. One day a chin ambassador came to him,and he wouldn't even give the man an audience with him,he just ordered the exicution of him. Then, directly afterwords,he ransacked a chinese village. When the chinese retaliated, all Kuplip could do,is drive his herds the other way, along with his people, and army.

The second Taijung had died, without an heir, thus, that faction was split into 2 clans, that of Gusrib Lamant, and Prester Megnin.Megnin was to the south, and Lamand was to the north, with the river being the boundry between the 2.Jeln of Kerand had thought about capitolising on the situation to his east, and could have annexed one after the other, but he remembered the threat of chinese armies to the south, and condemned Taisil for making such a stupid mistake.

So...Jeln of Kerand mounted his horse, and rallied his army, and rode against Kuplip Taisil.Taisil's army was mostly away, raiding chinese supply lines,or something...Or were they?Jeln had mustered his men atop a hill, overlooking Kuplip's main camp.Scouts came in saying that the main army under him was nowhere to be seen, but Kuplip himself was in the camp.

So,Jeln signalled the attack, and the mounted warriors flooded in to attack Kuplip. To their surprise, the whole of Kuplip's camp, including the women and children, all had horses,so they took flight, and Kerand gave chase...They gave chase all the way to a chinese fortification, where, being confused, thought it was Kuplip's magical building of deffense. They assaulted this small fortification, overrunning it,and razing it to the ground...The whole time, though,Taisil had been mustering his forces behind the screen of a forest, and Jeln's scouts never caught wind of it.But after they had got done razing the fort and all,Taisil's army was right there in their faces.Surrounding them, they had nowhere to go.

Jeln surrendered, thus, and he was executed. The army under Jeln was now Kuplip Taisil's army. Thus, the pastures of Kerand were passed to the Taisil clan, along with Karakorum.

Yulim died right after this, and his heir was a weak leader too.His name was Jussim.Jussim was just what his clan didn't need.So many seperated, fleeing southwestward under the lead of a certain Hiteal Nowen.Hiteal Nowen had served under the first Taisil, and knew how to command. But he refused to lead his men against Jussim, because, after all,Jussim was their leader,by birth..So he wouldn't attack unless he was attacked.

Tujet died long after this, and his lands were gracefully handed over to the hand of Geret Tujet Aming, who was a man of quite the amount of ability.Shortly after his taking of power, the eastern clans under Lamant and Megnin signed an alliance, and vowed not to attack eachother, thus Megnin went to raid northern chin, and Lamant started to invade the lands of Geret.Geret, just taking power, had been a renowned man before this.He had made friends with a few northern tribes.

Gusrib Lamant soon found that he had made a huge error in testing the ability of the new leader of the Tujet clan.he found himself outmaneuvered, outmanned, and outlead, when he met the finess of of Geret's command.Geret had gotten those tribes he had made friends with to join him,and he counterattacked Lamant's lands from all directions, except the direction comeing from the river.Lamant was commanding an army against Geret himself, and found himself routed, and as he tried to retreat,he found himself surrounded.Geret charged into the masses, and died.

Just after that,he tried to invade a tribe to the north who wouldn't subject to his rule, and he was shot off gaurd by an arrow, and killed.Geret had a son,who was 13.His name was Bulmo.Bulmo had signs of decency, but was too young, really,to do much...So 3 of his father's captains siezed Geret's pastures with the portions of Gerets army that was under them. These captains were Kimil Arslan,Jejim Kor,and Filb Lenns.Young Bulmo fled west with only the bare backbone of his father's once great clan.

Thus, after another hundred years of feuding, the most powerful of the old Aming Dynasty, was Yulim, and that isn't saying much. With the Taijung, and Kerand clans totally destroyed, and the Tujet clan nearing destruction as they flea west.It would take a miracle for the Aming dynasty to take back power over the whole of mongolia.

ORDERS
-The part of Ta south of the river is now under the domination of the Megnin clan.
-Kerand's lands have merged with Tas.As the Taisil clan gains the power over the army too.
-Hiteal Nowen seperates from Yulim, and heads west with his own clan.
-Ta's lands north of the river, and Tujet's lands are divided into 3 new clans,Kilim Arslan in the southeast, bordering the river.Kejim Kor,in the southwest portion of Tujet's lands, and Fillb Lenns,in the northern region of the Tujet lands.
-Spend economy on archer horsemen.
-Have the Megnin clan harass the invading chin, and have Taisil conduct a few hit and runs here and there,to slow the enemy down, and cause casualties.Drive the herds out of reach of chinese, and move the populace out of reach of chinese too.

To Mongols
From Chubu

Mongols, we have a common enemy! Ally with me, and the emperor in Yamato, and together, we can conquer China, and the lands to the west. Join with us, and we can forge such a coalition that history has never seen!

The ZULU

As the lands of the Zulu things prospered, Shaka’s great impi army conquered more lands every year, and soon the Zulu had far more land that they could inhabit and every person several slaves, even with the new found prosperity the Zulu population boom was not enough to cover the army’s great expansion.

One day the Zulu shaman came to Shaka, to him he said “Shaka, greatest king of the Zulu tribe, where your impi army march they conquer, your enemy’s armies crushed and their tribes enslaved, but what of what use is the land if all our hunters are fed? What use are great pastures if all our herds already have enough? Do the Zulu hunt for more that they can eat?”
“Your words are wise o great shaman” Shaka replied “But now the tribes fear us, and do not dare to raid us any longer in fear we pick them as our next target, as for our lands, with so many lands our sons and grandsons will be able to use them, they will be able to choose where to live without fear of raids and enough food to never go hungry”
“Shaka , you are a great leader to make plans for so many moons from now, but what about tomorrow?” the Shaman asked “With every day that passes more hunters bring tales and rumors of a great tribe to the south, one that may even rival the Zulu’s, and to win the Zulu’s will need many impi warriors”
“Shaman you advise ME about military matters? You might know herbs and spirits well but i have been on battle as many times as you have banished evil spirits” *A moment silence passes* “but you are a wise man, so what do you suggest shaman?”
“Unite the tribes, make their men impi warriors and with them we will never have to fear other tribes”
“To conquer without war, hmmm I don’t like that! the Zulu need to conquer trough strength and courage not words!”*an other moment of silence passes* “but of what use is conquest today if it means defeat tomorrow, you are right shaman I thank you for your wisdom, I will send some men to tell the tribes what I propose”

Diplomacy
To Neighboring Tribes
Your tribes are small and weak, the Zulu are big and powerful, their impi kill and conquer everywhere, if you acknowledge Shaka Zulu as you chief of chiefs you will be spared, if you do not then the Impi will come soon and will wash their spears in your blood.

Orders:
Expand Southwards
Invest 1 GC in Vaal Project

OOC: When did the Japanese get communication with the Mongols

OOC: When DIDN'T we?

OOC:Hey Fantasmo...Read this story for your answer.

Story of an idiotic Chubuman

A man of Chubu, sent by his master to relay a message of alliance, went to Korea, where he ventured to the far away land of Mongolia, venturing past the koreans, and steppe tribes outside the korean influence,he came to meet other peoples who told of the mongols. He wrote in a journal that "They say, that one mongolian hunter was so masterful with his bow, that he could hunt more than 5 of any other hunter in the world"

So he ventured fourth, wondering about these masterful hunters the way, gathering information. As he neared the land of Megnin,he started to hear tales of the ferociousness of the Mongol warriors. He heard tales such as "They can overrun any whole tribe with 100 men."

More tales were told.Of fear,of respect,of valor, and of revenge of the mongols. This messenger came to become an admirer of Mongolia, just threw the tales he had heard. He was staying with a Karait clan right outside Megnin's land, when it was attacked.Seeing the ferociousness of the charge of the Mongols first hand,he became to become bound in respect to them,as he said in his last entry before he set out to meet the king.

The messenger rode out the next day.He crossed a small stream, went threw a field, climbed utop a hill, and was held at arrow point by 5 men,who asked who he was,in their native tongue. The man didn't speak Mongolian,so they slew him.The only thing that remained was his diary, and his mutilated body, that was shipped back....Piece by piece.

Well, that's useful. Thanks Amon. I now have contact with the Mongolians. :D

Japanese do not have contact...the Japanese may know of warring hordes in the west, and the mongols may know of tradtional islanders in the east, but official contact has not yet been made.

Entira

Expansion of Entira from 2200BC to 2000BC
In map red means very important expansion and green less important expansion for you JJ

"Take this men there. We shall take this land by force if not by peace!" - General Jurdy Brut Aleki, First general of Entira.

This years were years blessed by the gods! All of them! Espaicaly for expansion. The country sent it's armies to several lands in order to take over them fully, with or without th living tribes joining. Those lands were important to the grouth of Entira across the world, and were important to keep Entira safe from other countries, espaicaly Rome.

Rome. It was the city of seven hills. A magnifisant city, as great as Entira itself, and it's armies! One of the envy of the world! Entiran diplomats returned with no speicel offers and Rome was never to become Entiran ally. And so the Entiran republic had to secure it's borders with Rome, far from important cities, so if Rome invades Entira will be safe in the cities as it will take a long time for the Romans to come near important cities.

Another important expansion rush as in Cyrene, befor Entira runs out of lands it must secure enough lands and resources from Cyrene.

Other than the rush expansions other expansion trips were done. For example a great march and conquests in Anatoly and the expansion into the west. All was important and in 2179 the colony on Western Egyptus continent was built. That was the day when over 10,000 Numdians came to live in growing Entira declearing they will obey the rules, and be part of the army, but as for the Numdians King always it will be the Numidian actual king, for symbolism... That was the year the King of Entira lowered his power and the country became a true Republic. The Entiran Republic.

Sure it has, read Amon's story, it's rather informative. Or consider it me sending a messenger looking for them.

Can you update my stats to include the 1000 infantry I got last turn? I should have 4000.

And who (besides Sinhala and Siam) do I have contact with?

I am taking the Aztect Empire after the next update.

Coast Salish Orders:

- Build cities as indicated on the Map (Ones taht the arrows are pointing to)
- Send ships and settlers to settle North of the Chinook, as indicated on the Map.
- Expand down River and outwards on mainland as demonstarted by the arrows on the map. Cut down trees, and make dugout canoes of them to travel down the River, as the Gods stated.
- Start a project, which will take 2 turns, and 2 eco, to clear land of those giat trees, and to plant crops, as the Gods stated. This will take awhile, since the trees are bloody big. Use the wood to build 2 new cities.
- Order the army to start building a road connecting the East-most city to the city in the middle.
- My Infrastructure should increase because of my cities, roads, and now farmland.

Story:

Chief Esquimalt was in a very good mood. He knew that the Gods would be pleased with him, for he had done as they said, and everything had worked very well! But he knew taht more, much much more needed to be done. As he and his entourage went to his Cave he reflected on what he had managed to do. He had built another city, and connected it via roads to his capital. His once small tribe had grown rapidely, and had colonized the islands, which were very rich and fertile. He had 2 neighbours, not fairly powerful, and he was worried about the future of living next to them, but he was sure that everything would turn out fine. His nation was a peaceful one, and wanted nothing more then peace and happiness, and cooperation. But he now needed more direction, from the Gods of Land, Empire, Military, and People. As he told his entourage to stop at the same place, and he got out, and walked the same trail that he always did when going to his Cave. He was nervous, as he always was, but confident that whatever he did, it would be for the good of the people.

He came to his cave, humming a cheerful tune. He went into the cave, brushing aside the overgrowth, and stood in the middle, and started the chanting that would inform the Gods that he was there. Then, he noticed the 4 Gods of his Nation, or the Souls of them, rather.

The Chief of the Lands went first. "Chief" he said in his low drawling voice. "I am plkeased at what you have done, your new city is a testament to the glory of you and your people. But you need more. You must built more cities, and have your people expand their villages. But, in order to feed all these people, you must start clearing the trees. The trees will not mind. Chop down the trees, get rid of the roots, and make the land into farmland, Instruct your peole on how to do this. Then plant crops that will feeed your people. If you do that, then you can have enough food to feed your people with. Also, the soil will grow good crops of food, but do not constantly plant crops in it, give the soil time to recover between crops. You have been doing good thus far, but I warn you, do not disappoint me."

The God of the Empire went next. "Chief", he said in his deep, booming voice. "This tribe has done well, very well under your strong and proud leadership. COntinue to expand the nation, and do not be afriad to expand along the coast as well. Use boats to transport your people. Expanding inland is a must, and use boats to send settlers down taht River faster. That River will lead to the promised Land, and you must colonize this, it is imperitave. It is truly excellent land, and will bring much to your nation."

The God of the Military proceeded. "Chief, you have a sufficiedntly sized Military. You do not necessarily need to expand it right now, that can be done more later, but be wary at all times, and always try to think of something more that you can do to make your nation safer from your enemies. Use your military to help you expand inland. Use trees to make boats to travel down that river, they will not mind. Good work. Keep it up. Do not fail me."

Lastely, the God of the People. "Chief. I am not as pleased with you. You have failed to built temples for your people to cleanse their souls, and to communicate with us. First, you must built farmland, so your people can always have good food, and never go hungry, but, after that, you must build temples to honour us, our you will suffer the consequences! Do you understand me?"

"Yes, definitely", said Chief Esquimalt. "I never meant to displease, I just have so much to do, and only finite funds to do it with. I will do that immediately, and I apologize for not doing it before."

And, with that, Chief Equimalt walkedx back to his entourage, and went off to do the God's Bidding. He was slightly shaken at his failure, but pledged to make things right.

Your messenger died,lol...It was luck, that he made it to the mongolian gobbi,so that he could have the privilage of dieing by mongolian arrows...I don't see how anyone could call that "Establishing contact"

Jason, I know you've read this thread. You've even posted.

COULD YOU PLEASE add my 1000 infantry from last turn and tell me who I have contact with? PLEASE?

ok, i forgot to do atlantis' orders, so here is the fix that has been i the udpate, and hte map is fixed as well.

The Atlanteans continue to expand into the mainlands of Africa and Europe, connecting its two colonies in Africa rather peacefully and with success. In Iberia, Atlantis begins to feel the pressure of the Celtic tribes that inhabit the area, and the whole colony is at risk. However, to counter this threat a magnificent stone fort is constructed near the Tagus River known as Toledo Fort. This fort is the most advanced, strongest fort to ever have been built in the world. It is a marvel at the ingenuity of the Atlanteans, who do not posses the technologies of iron, to have sculpted such a stone structure.
