Story
Sultan Iskandar Shah, the son of Sultan Iskandar Shah (son of... ditto das..
) was a happy man. The empire had lasted 200 years and did not show any signs of crumbling just yet. His fathers and forefathers and foreforefathers and.. well.. his ancestors had taken five generations to establish Kota Melaka firmly on the Malayan Peninsula. Perhaps now was the time to improve the empire further. He sat in the throne room looking over a crude map of the lands known by his fathers, back when they ruled over Acheh.
"Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat and Hang Kasturi!" the Sultan called out to three of his advisors.
"Ampun tuanku! What would you have us do?"
"Tuah, take a regiment of Kesateria and go south to Temasik. Reestablish the old trading post there. Jebat, take two regiments and two squadrons of our galleys. Take them east and establish some towns there as well. Kasturi, you are the newest advisor. I will promote you to a laksamana if you successfully establish a new colony back in Sumatera and in the lands of Majapahit. Take two regiments of warriors and a squadron of galleys."
All three bowed their heads and left to prepare for their duties. Sultan Iskandar nodded to himself. He knew the main improvements he needed to do.
Prior to the expansion projects, Iskandar had also decided to establish cities elsewhere within the sphere of influence and sent shahbandar to establish the cities.
Roads... Iskandar thought to himself. The cost to hire roadbuilders were extravagantly high and the army didn't have the time to train on their roadbuilding skills, hence needing a lot of time. It was decided then. He knew a way and he shall implement it.
The citizens of Kota Melaka stood around the marketplace, the Sultan was there and he was preparing to give a speech. Usually, a messenger did those speeches so this must be something important. The din was incredible as people talked to each other trying to guess the content of the message. Then, the Sultan walked up the platform. And the marketplace became silent, save for the cluck of a hen here and there.
"Citzens of Melaka. I have begun an expansion plan which will improve the glory of our nation even further. Kota Melaka will flourish as luxuries and resources from foreign lands are brought into this very marketplace. Prosperity looms for us, citizens. But, as we say bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian. Before we can have these luxuries and riches at our very doorstep, we need to ensure that we can get these items. As such, I have restructured the tax plan of our nation. Instead of paying an annual tax of the resources you produce, it shall be an alternate tax/corvee system. As such, every year, half of the able population of Melaka is to pay tax and the other half is to serve the corvee to build roads from the capital to the outlying cities. You shall be given food and boarding and while the work is hard, it isn't any harder than farming your own plots of land. I would like to call out all wise men to come up with a road design which can be standardised throughout the land. If our roads can span the land, we shall enjoy the riches of Melaka. For our glory and for our future!"
The crowd shouted agreement to the Sultan. Taxes had been rather high, most of them complained, yet many did not mind serving the nation. The Sultan had finally found a way to push the people's patriotism in the right direction..

Defying Aedor, defying the chieftains, rebelling against common sense, Seft started the war with the Spartan League, the First Spartan War which will be immortalized by later historians as an initially pointless yet epic struggle, which, by its existance, gave itself a meaning.
As epic armies clashed in Thessaly, and thousands of men died, an old man - a Priest of Aedor - was travelling in the northern lands of Thrace.
Orders (*kinda SECRET!!!!*):
- Get 500 horsemen.
- Call for volunteers throughout Thrace - surely we will find many young, hotheaded people who will gladly join in for some fame and glory, and besides, its more exciting then sitting around and shepherding all day. The volunteers would probably all be "warriors", and MAYBE a few archers.
- Continue trying to break up the League. Historically, Greek "leagues" often fell apart due to different city-states pursuing different agendas, different generals having different ambitions and the fact that communication between cities was fairly small did not help unity. So, contact some generals, and promise them governorship over their cities, under autonomy. Pit different factions against each other by fake peace feelers. Even if the League does not come apart, it should decrease enemy coordination.
- Continue fighting in northern Greece. The enemy don't have cavalry, but we do. So, after several standard system skirmishes with the enemy, begin to fall back, faking panic. The enemy will probably follow us, as we retreat into more open territory. It is there that we will reorganize and start fighting them again, while the cavalry (windriders and horsemen) will strike more or less simultaneously on enemy flanks, hopefully while the enemy is still moving or in the heat of engagement between infantry. Use warriors to fill the gaps. Hopefully this will let us turn the tide and kill more enemies. If they do not pursue us when we retreat, then stop the retreat and resume fighting, placing our bet on fire arrows, suicidal charges of the warriors and, if the opportunity appears, cavalry attack on either the enemy archers, either the enemy infantry's flank. Don't waste our cavalry too much unless we get a "one in a hundred" opportunity.

HMM you didn't expanded me as I wanted, for example near Venice, adn the other adriatic coast colony. I saw you didn't expanded me as expanded in Sicily... bah but oh well. I also settled a colony in southern Turkey . Thats all I belive.
BTW why you say my alliance with other tribes? I barly have 1 city in each colony, what tribes I occupy at all?

Entiran Republic
Government Revolution
Around 2197BC the country expansion was at it's height. With a new colony build in what was now known as western egyptus Entira reached a new height in size and number of people. In time the colonies became very important and with the creation of that colony the o****ry recieved more than 10,000 new people into the country, people from the tribes that now joined the country.
In Entira the forum also saw a new grouth. With the many new people the number of people in the senate grew, as well as the cultures and people types in it. People from Egyptus continent, Antoly, the islands, Latins, Sicilians and others. With it's grouth and with the growing numbers of new citizens who are not pure Entirans, which themselves begun to dissapear as marriges between the Entirans and Latins were high, with a new type of people and culture evolving Enlatino. Anyway the forum saw it's power growing further and further, and with new tribes able to join the forum the king had prety much lost all it's real power as the many new tribes listened only to the forum.
In 2197BC the king actualy understood it with 10,000 Numidian people joining the country that decleared the numidian king as their king, but their rulers was the Entiran Forum and they will respect all it's word. The King in those times, King Baio, understood the meaning. The forum is now prety much the actual rulers of Entira. The kign reconised it and with a great speech to the people he decleared he will from now on be only the symbolic king of all Entira but he will no longer be the ruler of the lands. He by thee declear that all cotnrol rights he ever had, on the country and army, are now given to the forum. He ofcourse expected to be left with his palace and that the kings line will continue to serve as one of the two first generals of the army, but he said he will do as the forum laws tell him as the second general of the Entiran army. With the king leaving the country was now no longer an "ancient" republic with a kign but a true republic. A Forum-Republic!
With this new government came more freedom to all tribes, hopes among the last entirans was that with this new freedom new tribes will join and the old ones will stay as Entira will become a true union but they knew that if the tribes will decide to break the republic, than war will begun between Entira and who wants it's best and the evil tribes who joined only to destory Entira... Plans were planend but no war was seemed to come and with the much new freedom many more joined and the country became more stable.
A year of Miliatry changes
"We are sailing into a new age! The people of the Entiran Republic will soon reach new lands and colonies and we will be the greatest the world have ever known! With this new grouth comes our responsibility to create an organized army to keep the peace along the republic and to stop any chance of enemy invasion. Until today our army was not the greatest, or as organized as needed. The Hanita soldeirs changed it all by bringing orders to the army ranks but it was not enough. With new expansion going into every direction of the world, and new people and countries are being met, we must organize our army into a worthy army among other countries. After the forum have voted upon it it was decided that the republic army structre must change, and many new men must join the army. To make sure this happans the forum have passed a new law to all Entirans, with diffrences of religion, culture or race. From this day forward every men in the age of 18 must join the army into a training progrem that will take 3 years. After this 3 years he will join the army ranks as a well trained new soldeir. He will ofcourse choose his miliatry direction as a Hanita or an Archer for now. Our scienticts our working around the clock to create new weapones to defend Entira. As well as a Hanita or an Archer every new young recruit could also choose a naval direction. He will than have 4 years of training befor he will join a ship crew. There was a new buzz throughout the whole of Siam. It had to do with the newly contacted Sri Lankans. With contact made, trade followed helping the Siamese economy and infastructure. This certaintely pleased the local merchants as well as the citizens. As new and foreign goods poured into the markets the people bought more. The new trade also meant good things for the nearly complete "Markets of Bangkok". The merchants wanted more however, they wanted to boost more organized trade by establishing a Siamese trade fleet. The Emperor also wanted to do this but it would require the cooperation of the Sri Lankans as well.
Aside from the good trading abroad, the Emperor had another concern. His military while strong in the jungles was not as great in numbers as he would have liked. Especially with Siams two powerful neighbors (Mekong and Thai) growing by the day.
The emperor decided to help this by a call up of the empires revolutionary units, the Elite Troopers. The emperor also wanted to have his men greatly trained in the art of jungle warfare. So he ordered the generals to have all of their men to learn the jungle terrain as well as every path and road. This in effect would lead the art of the sneak attack since the jungles made them even easier to pull off then other landscapes would. With the men adapting well to this method of fighting his concerns about the military were somewhat lessened since any nations army no matter how large would have a hard time beating the Siamese in the jungle.

The call was sounded. The harbormaster scanned the sea to determine which colony the ship was from. But it bore foreign flags. And judging from the looks of the ship, these people were at least as civilized as the Empire.

"These strangers from the east call themselves the Siamese, and they wish to commence trade with us." The head of the navy was making his report to the Emperor.
"Offer them peace. And divert some of our ships to begin trade with them. Then trade their goods with the Sinhalese. Hopefully we can profit from this encounter."

The exotic goods and building styles were catching on fast. The Siamese culture was sweeping the Empire. The Emperor decided to introduce his culture to the Siamese.
"We shall build a great port, which shall become a commanding center of trade. Sri Lankan goods shall travel across the world. And we shall build a great road from this port to the capital, so that we may better export our goods. We shall have the finest port the world has ever seen, so as to glorify the Gods I serve. I shall give it the name of the closest village to it. What is it called?"
