Update 0 - 3000 B.C.E.
In the fertile crescent, near the Dead Sea, a small civilization arises around the city of Jerusalem. They are known chiefly for their peculiar religion and their despot King David.
On the tiny Mediterranean island of Malta, a civilization of fishermen and seafarers arises. The main problem is that the island is tiny. Too tiny. So tiny in fact that they had trouble constructing a capital city. But they did. But the island is still tiny. Riddiculeously tiny. There have been many storms, along with a good few plagues, comets, earthquakes, and an appearance of a magical golden boat pointed towards a far away land. Some think that the gods are trying to tell them something.
Yet another civilization arises in north africa. The primitive kingdom of Egpyt consits of numerous little hut villages along the nile that are taxed by a central ruler - called the pharaoh - from a city in the nation's center. Numerous other such hut villages exist along the river that, some think, could easily be taken.
Much, much, farther east, a land of barbaric horsemen exists. Amongst numerous feuding clans exists one of particular strength, known as the Mongols. But, damn is it cold.
To the south, it gets considerably warmer. There, exists the Song civilization. They are centered around the city of Hangzhou. Not much to say abuot them at the moment, as there's no real danger or threat immediately around them. Rice is their chief crop.
And predictably its even more hella hot in Mohenjo Daro, an advanced urban society located on the banks of the Indus river. They go about speaking their strange language and building elephant statues.
On the Italian peninsula, on the banks of the river Tiber, a small city state called Rome arises. It does so amidst a bunch of other weird ethnicities. They have grand plans, but right now they are most known among the other peoples due to their peculiar royal color.
And in a place even more cold than mongolia, the Vikingpeople of Vikingland united in a magical Vikingceremony under Vikingchief Lord Eirik Bloodaxe. They dance around in their Vikingclothes obtained by skinning wolves and massive bears that they beat in hand to paw combat.
In Anatolia the city state of Troy arises. They do not have the Vikingclothes of the Viking people of Vikingland, which makes the populace very sad, but they can at least boast of having a manly shade of red, as opposed to those pansies on Italia.
And between the two rivers in the middle east arises the Babylonian civilization of King Sargon. The gods are feeling merciful (and lazy) so they do not set up the several dozen npcs sure to come with that starting location right away.
And in Iberia arises Lusitania. Their civilization revolves around the color green and the "Green coast", which is strange considering that they have no color on the world map. Come to think of it, they're not on the world map period. The moderator must have forgotten to put them on and is too lazy to tinker with the uploads. However, the people rest assured that they will have a pleasently green color whenever they do appear on world maps.
